I had the cowboy tacos and found them to be good. They are different in that they have chopped green peppers in them. This is a place where you order your food at the counter and they bring it to your table. No real table...service in the traditional sense.
It is not a place I would go out of my way to visit. There are just a few tables inside.More
Family friendly reasonably priced meals in small strip mall. Very friendly staff and nice menu variety. This was our first visit and we will return. Picky teenager liked the food and finished his plate. Owner supports our military-thank you!
I've eaten here twice now and, although I heard it may have changed ownership in between my visit, I didn't notice a difference (other than a photographer being present upon my second visit to record images of various dishes as they appeared from the kitchen)....Although I have tried limited items (only tacos, but various versions) on the menu, everything I saw come out of the kitchen was appealing to my visual and olfactory senses.
Let me say that these were not the very best tacos that I've eaten, but they were very good for the price (I give extra rating for value). Where else can you get a very satisfying fish taco for $2.75? No where that I know of. In addition, they offer a Taco Tuesday special for which you can get an even better value.
That being said, I was more satisfied (on both visits) with the fish and shrimp tacos than I was with the street tacos, especially for the slight price difference. Everyone knows street tacos are mostly shell (double-layered soft corn tortillas), a little meat (in this case either steak, pork, or chicken), and even less lime, cilantro, etc. The dishes at this restaurant don't stray from that, but they do (in my opinion) lack some seasoning. I definitely preferred the fish and shrimp tacos (individual, not mixed) as they were served on flour tortillas and were very willing, as they were topped with lettuce, pico de gallo, and a house salsa.
Next time I will try other items, such as the tostada, quesadilla, and tres leches, which I've heard good things about. I will definitely go back.
FYI, this restaurant does not take reservations. You order at the counter and then sit at a table and wait for your order to be served. It is small and quaint, with only about a dozen or less tables, but the service has been excellent on both of my visits. Ample parking outside on both visits.More
