One of the best steaks we have ever had! We ordered the ribeye and the filet. Cooked perfectly! Our waitress was great! Highly recommend and will definitely be back!!

Reservations were made. They couldn't find our reservations, but seated us anyway. We asked to be seated by the window (which we were). Windows were very dirty (inside and out). Instead of assigning servers to various sections of the restaurant, it appears the management assigns...servers in every section. Only five tables of patrons in our section, and there were three servers, but not very attentive servers I might add. We heard one server tell customers that she was the hostess, server and bartender. Escargot with Scallops....what a joke. It was a tiny/tiny snail, a very tiny scallop, and I never found the mushroom. I ordered the prime rib. I will say it was the worst prime rib I have ever had. Tough (could hardly cut through it). Husband's pork chops were nothing to write home about either. The beef stroganoff that was ordered at our table was bland and supposedly had prime rib in it. It was noodles, mushrooms and two small pieces of prime rib. If you want a nice dinner, and your bill is going to be $200+, I would definitely tell you to find another restaurant. Once and done.More
We have been to Michaels several times. For Father’s Dsy, we took 2 family members for their first time. Our reservation was for 6:45 and were seated by 6:50. The waitress was VERY inattentive (there were only 4 tables n that room and she was...not the only server). We were hoping that only the service was not up to par, but unfortunately, the food wasn’t either. After finally getting our food at 8:10 (they close at 8:30!), 3 orders of filet and an order of pork chops ALL came out cold while the baked potatoes were so hot steam was coming out (we wondered if the potatoes weren’t ready and they let the steaks get cold waiting). Definitely not worth $175.00 (not including tip). We won’t be back.More
We had a fabulous and romantic dinner here. We’re absolute foodies and thought the food was delicious - I went with the steak Oscar and my husband had the wagyu burger. The cocktails were perfect and the outside patio was lovely. The service was just...how we like it - friendly but not “in your face”. We found this place by luck of the draw doing an internet search for fine dining near our hotel in Osage Beach. It’s a bit off the beaten path, but accessible enough and worth the few minutes drive out of town for the view of the lake. We’d be regulars if we lived here!More
Very disappointed. The place looks very dirty. We sat by very dirty windows and the view was awesome…however 6 plus flies and lots of grime on the floor to ceiling windows did not leave me feeling great about the importance of cleanliness. The problem is...simple and a good once a week clean would go a long way. The glasses for the water also did not seem very clean. Bad impression. We both got the large ribeye and again for 48 dollars each it was not horrible but not great either. I literally had much better steak at outback so that was disappointing. I did not want the andria sauce it was dipped in …however it must have been on the grill because it certainly was on the steak… ordered med rare and received medium at best..Waitress was fine but never asked about our steaks and hostess was nice. I would not recommend and would not go back. Plenty of other fine dining experiences at the lake.More
Drinks: Merlot and Prosecco Appetizer: Shrimp Cocktail Diner 1: English Cut Prime Rib (Medium), Salad, Baked Potato Diner 2: Ribeye (Medium Rare) Salad, Baked Potato Atmosphere: Wonderful view from up on the cliff, decor was a little dated but nice. Wait Staff: Pleasant and knowledgeable...but, I think spread a little too thin. Shrimp cocktail was good, shrimp were fresh. Sauce could have used a bit more horse radish. Salads were fresh and crisp. Baked potatoes were good sized and moist. Prime Rib was flavorful, but dry and well done (not medium) Ribeye was done as requested, had a good char, adequate flavor, but that hid a sub-par steak. It was chewy (lots of gristle).More
Very nice little family owned restaurant in a remote but accessible location. Indoor and outdoor dining with fabulous views. Food was beyond great as was the service. Full bar and good wine list make this a must when at Lake of the Ozarks. Will visit...again.More
Fantastic little out of the way family restaurant right on the lake. We had dinner on the patio and the view was indescribable. They have a full bar and excellent wine list. The steaks and prime rib were superb as was the service. Can’t say...enough about this place.More
Excellent for a fine dining experience. The service was friendly and professional. The server Uriah was attentive and pleasant . The patio was not open yet, but the upstairs dining was very nice. The food was plentiful and well prepared. The special orange princess roughy...with the crab and Bernais sauce was excellent. The staff availability was at times sparse, but reservations were necessary. The pricing was not for the weak at heart! However the quality and portions were excellent.More
Our first time at Michael’s Steak Chalet. And man, they didn’t disappoint. We were hungry for steaks and the place we were staying at ( Margaritaville ) had next to nothing to offer except pizza and burgers! Weird. Oh well, there loss. And one of...the bartenders there recommended Michaels. So we went there on a Hope. Being winter time, we walked right in and got a table next to the window of one of the most perfect views of the lake. The view is spectacular! You can see for miles each way of the lake. They say reservations are highly recommended in the summer months and I can see why. So, we had no problems what so ever. Employees were fantastic. Everything was very clean. Just don’t get in a hurry. And we weren’t. Why would you. Martinis and appetizers were excellent. We had been told by the bartender mentioned above, that there known for there prime rib. So we got it. I’m 62 years old and have eaten prime rib my whole life all over, and this rates right up there with any of the best I have ever had. Twice baked potatoes- excellent. Veggies-excellent. We didn’t have dessert as we couldn’t eat another bite. I highly recommend Michaels Steak Chalet! Great job and are compliments to the chef’s.More
I wish we could say we had a chance to try the steak and prime rib but after sitting and waiting for over an hour we finally asked why we had not received our dinner and the owner said it looked like they lost our...ticket. He didn’t act too apologetic. The waitress had not come out to see us for over 30 minutes. It was our anniversary dinner. Needless to say we ended up ordering dinner from another restaurant and that meal was delicious. Would not recommend this place. Wasted over an hour of our time.More
The food was excellent. We had the filet and prime rib. No garlic mashed potatoes available as advertised. Standard baked potato and salad. Vegetable offered was lima beans. We were seated in 1 big room. I felt like I had to whisper. Very old and...dated surroundings. No offer to freshen my ice tea. The waitress had shorts on. This is a very expensive restaurant. I didn't feel shorts on a 55+ year old waitress were appropriate. Or any shorts for that matter.More
We love going to Michael’s, the view is fantastic and the service is excellent. Definitely recommend the prime rib and my wife enjoys their filets. Great wine list also.
Heard rave reviews for Michael’s and it totally lived up to the reviews and then some! The food was excellent and the view was spectacular.... Had the grilled prime rib with the andrias sauce and it was delicious and tender. My husband had the rib...eye and it was cooked perfectly and so tender.... the fried lobster appetizer was great and was a generous portion. The staff was wonderful and friendly and they made sure the tables were socially distanced. Will definitely return if headed back to the Ozarks.More
This is one of our favorite restaurants at the lake. The patio view of the lake is just breathtaking. We loved out dinner so much we went back the next night. I'd highly recommend reservations. The food and service was fantastic.
