Hops on the Ceiling and Beer in your Glass

The George Inn is a very cozy gastro- pub in the countryside of Kent with a super helpful and friendly proprietor. Our group of friends stopped in for a late lunch and weren’t disappointed. Beers on tap which are generously sampled before buying. Loved the dried hops hanging from the ceiling as... read more

I came here with my whole family (13 people) to celebrate my sister's and my brother-in-law's birthdays and we were very excited as the pub is lovely and cosy, and we've had a great experience before. But despite pre-ordering our food a few days beforehand, we had to wait nearly an hour for our starter and nearly another hour for... More

Had a lovely evening, great food, lovely fire going which was great because it was a cold night. Staff were brilliant too. Will certainly be back again soon.

We had a lovely meal here last night but what made it especially enjoyable was the warmth and friendliness of the barman (or landlord?). This is a great pub - we've rediscovered it and I think we'll be back again soon!

We visited the George again today having previously come last year (food then was also excellent!) The menu choices for a light lunch were extensive, not just your standard sandwiches / ploughmans. I had mushrooms on ciabatta which were divine, and my father had omelette and chips. The staff are very friendly, making you feel very much at home, even... More

If you chose your local this would be it. A gorgeous, hop filled pub, not too far off the beaten track. We stepped in for a quick beer on the way home from a nice drive. I had a lovely pint of whitstable bay ale and the missus had a cider. Really lovely pub, gutted we weren't stopping for lunch,... More

We visited this pub when we were staying in the area. Apparently we got the last table although it didn't seem that busy. We ordered our starters which took an hour to arrive because, we were told, they served those that had booked stable first even if they ordered after us! The starters were average. The steak I had was... More

Went to this pub on Wednesday 16th September for lunch. Lunch menu very poor choice. My husband ordered steak pie which we were told after five mins was not available so he reordered ham egg and chips. My daughter ordered Chilli beef. My husbands food when it arrived was luke warm but worst of all my daughters dish of chilli... More

On a journey home from Canterbury back to Essex we had the delightful experience of having lunch at The George Inn with friends. The food was extremely good and the staff were very welcoming indeed. As the weather was mixed we stayed inside but there is a fabulous garden which I'm sure will appeal to those with children. This prooved... More
