It was so good I forgot to get a photo!

Delicious! We ordered a Kid’s Chicken Tender Meal and an Unk Burger. The chicken tenders were generously portioned. They were perfectly cooked. The Unk Burger was scrumptious. We also had sweet tots and sweet fries. Both were cooked to perfection. We had to do takeout due to COVID. Our food traveled great (about 12 minutes) and I would order out from here again with no worries. Great customer service. They called about replacing an unavailable item. They called back to let us know our order was ready. The employee wore a mask and delivered our food to the car. The restaurant is in a strip mall which is a little unusual, but don’t let that stop you from giving this restaurant a try. YUM

Skip the Freddy's on the corner

The hamburger is way better than any fast food burger. The bun is soft and very fresh. My sister and I debate what kind of seasoning they use on the patty, it's very tasty. The fries are seasoned with something special that makes them very crunchy and so good. The restaurant is very clean, like eating at a favorite uncle's house who has papered his walls with coloring book pages. Additionally, the staff is so nice and we had a nice conversation...so skip the Freddy's on the corner and get a real burger.

Usually come in a couple times a month with coworkers. Often enough that Unk and a couple of the waitstaff know my order when I walk in. Always friendly and food is always awesome! Can't wait for this quarantine to be over so I can go back!

Wasn't Going To Review But...

I feel compelled to. I read the other reviews and for the most part decent experiences. Happy for them. But, our experience was strange. We walked in and stood there for almost 5 minutes and the server/hostess kind of ignored us completely and there was only one couple with two kids seated in there. The man gave me a look I should've picked up on like "run while you can" but didn't pay much attention. The place is small has has very limited seating and I get the pandemic things going on but very tight there. There was a weird vibe all around actually. The server just pointed to the menu above the cash register and said "this is what we have ". Then turned her back to us and started yelling orders to the two guys standing around doing nothing we could see in the kitchen. No masks on either so beware! We never were helped and couldn't figure out if we sit or get seated? We left. Won't return. Service first or you're out of luck. Freddy's was delicious by the way. Good luck Unk Burgers.

Not worth it

We wanted to try somewhere we hadn't been before and support a local business. The burgers were ok, but the onion rings and french fries were just greasy. It was $65 for four of us with drinks, burgers and sides. Not worth the price.

Great local burgers

Best burgers I’ve had in a long time. Try the breakfast burger, you will not regret it. The baked beans are awesome as a side. Don’t forget to get some fresh baked cookies before you go. If you are lucky enough to meet Unk he treats you like family.

The owner created us so warmly. Asked us what we're doing in the area. I said I was graduating from Park University tomorrow. He asked my name and announced it to the people in the restaurant. Warmed heart. He gave us a sample of his baked beans. OMG, it was the best I've had. Ordered burgers and the beans. The burgers were perfect. Great flavor. If we lived in the area, we would definitely come in lots of times. But if we're in the area again, we will definitely come back in.

Great BURGER but the beans!

These guys know how to make a burger but you have to try the beans! The atmosphere was cozy and the people super friendly. The baked beans here might be the best I've ever had in my entire life, they are an absolute MUST! This establishment also offers catfish, veggie burger, turkey burger and over a 1000 ways to customize your sandwich.

THE BEST BURGER IN THE KC METRO - HANDS DOWN!

If you're looking for a bangin' burger, you need to head over and visit Unk's in Lee's Summit. Unk will put his beans against any in KC, and he ain't playin'. They're phenomenal! You can order your burger patty with or without onions, but they're both excellent. The fries are exactly what I needed during my pregnancy. Writing this post is actually making me so hungry that I'm going to have to call them in a minute! I love the low-key and relaxed atmosphere of the dining area and I love that Unk (or one of his family members) is almost always there manning the register or slinging burgers. Having the owner stop by and check on us made it feel more like a small-town burger joint than suburban Lee's Summit. I love supporting local black-owned businesses when I can, and this place is straight-up a hidden gem more people need to know about.

Nice little "joint"

Burger was very good. I didn't find the fries too remarkable. Everything cooked to order, so you order at the counter and wait a few minutes before they bring it to your table.

Website states “cooked to order”. However, when selection requested I was informed that burgers all cooked “medium “. Not my preference. Heard the burgers are good though.

Disgusting!

We went there a few months after they opened and will never go back. The burgers were dry and just plain awful. My daughter ordered a grilled cheese and it came out on a hamburger bun laden in grease. We asked for water, they don't serve you a glass but they'll sell you a bottle.
