Good food, poor service

We love Colton's at every location we've visited and been to this restaurant before. This time we stopped mid-afternoon on Monday when there was just a handful of other patrons. While the food was good, our server was a forgetful mess. We constantly had to remind her what she forgot and although our table was double-stacked with plates and glasses, she didn't remove a single thing. We made a point to stack the empties high like we were playing jenga, thinking she'd take something away from our little table, but it never happened. Lousy service can ruin the whole experience.

Oh my goodness if you love Logans in TX you will love this place. Great steak house pricing. Family had burgers and sirlon, bread, peanuts, cookie dessert just okay, service was excellent, great atmosphere, great bday celebration place could eat for around $60 with x3 people with beef, soft drinks and 1 dessert and around $67 with tip, well worth the price tag. I would almost rather eat out 1 time per mn. and just come to Colton's exclusively, only thing even close is Hy-Vee's dine in

Excellent food and service

My sirloin was one of the best steaks I've ever had at a restaurant - extremely tender and tasty. Fries and salad were very good as well. My wife had a cheeseburger that she rated as excellent. I had to be careful not to fill up on the complimentary peanuts, which are really addictive. Service was friendly, and our food was delivered promptly. We will be going back.

Amazing food and service

30 of us ate yesterday, I anticipated long delays in order taking and food service because of our numbers. Our servers were cheerful, expedient and friendly. Food was delivered hot, quickly and accurately. I had the best pork chop ever, spouse and 2 others at our table enjoyed their food too. Servers were very attentive, checking frequently to see if we needed anything.

Give Texas Roadhouse a Run for its Money

If I didn't know better, I would've thought I walked right into a Texas Roadhouse. Very busy eatery on a Friday night, with waiting crowds that lasted until close to 9 pm. Front staff was harried, but the food was quite tasty with good, friendly service throughout. Get the strawberry salad and filet. You won't be disappointed.

Good food and service.

I usually try to avoid chains on my travels but with limited options in Kirksville we have this a try. The food was really good and we had great service. We had a few in our party that did not want steak and they had plenty of other options from salads to chicken dishes. The restaurant was crowded on a Sunday night but our service did not suffer.

Excellent Food, Great Service

We stopped at Colton's Steakhouse for dinner. We sat in the bar are and was waited on very quickly. The waitress was attentive and the food was very good. We were able to relax and take our time never felt rushed and had a great experience. We will stop in again.

Much Better Than Expected!

This place is very good for a small, college town steakhouse. Although the steak prices lean more big-city than small town, the quality and size were good. I got the 16 oz ribeye and my son got the Del Rio ribeye. Both were cooked perfectly and the Del Rio was seasoned very nicely (which the menu informs you about). The baked potatoes were average, but the pre-meal salads were better than anticipated, with house made dressings, cheese and big croutons. I plan to visit again the next time I'm in the area.

Disappointed

We had been here a year ago and been very impressed, however not this time. The bartender had obviously never been trained to make a mixed drink. The mushrooms ordered for my steak had hot peppers in with them so unable to eat. Our server was however great and really tried to keep us happy.

Service was good but when we mentioned our meals were over cooked she just said ok. Good dry and just so-so. Bread was awesome! Ask for recommendations and as she walked away she said no recommendations all is good. Usually the server takes tome to share customer favorites. Assuming she was busy. Just an okay restaurant.

We tried Colton's for the first time in August when moving our daughter to college, and we just keep coming back. We haven't had a bad meal yet. In fact, everything has always been delicious and the service is fast and the servers have all been very friendly and polite. The portions are generous and reasonably priced. Just an excellent establishment overall.

Great service

Let me say I am just glad I found this little gem in Kirksville. From the food, wait staff and atmosphere it was all great. I wish I remembered our waiters name. He was kind, profession, and had a great personality. He had black hair and tattoos. The food was phenomenal, from the smoked prime rib, filet, and ribs. Definitely would recommend this place.

Great experience

Food prepared perfectly and great flavor. We both had the sirloin. I had a baked potato and a salad while my husband had a baked sweet potato with the works. Both meals were perfect. Service was perfect as were the drinks from the bar.

The place to be in Kville

This has to be the best place to eat in Kirksville. It’s a chain of course and this location is as good as any Colton’s I’ve been to across the Midwest. Steak tips on the kids menu were a big hit with my kids. The kids burger was huge as well. I ordered ribs and catfish that were okay but I’ll try different next time.

Got there early on Truman’s graduation weekend. Enjoyed their burger, 6oz sirloin, sirloin tips, house salad, fried okra, and onion rings. Service was very friendly and attentive. We recommend.
