Nothing fancy here, just your basic diner with friendly service, good food, and reasonable prices. So...what more do you need to know? Beware it is a popular spot especially when the City Market next door is busy. Parking can be tight but the KC street...car stops just round the corner.More

Fifteen years ago, when we lived at Crown Center, we were regulars at the Diner. Once a week, three times a month maybe. And though it was nothing special, it was a reliable breakfast/lunch joint with friendly folks and decent prices. So last week, we...went back for the first time since then. I would be shocked to find out they've cleaned the place since we were last there more than a decade ago. It was gross. The walls and floor are covered in stains. The windows are so nasty there's no telling when was the last time anyone wiped them down. It is disgusting. I would have thought the covid shutdowns would have given them plenty of time to do a deep clean, but there's no evidence of that. So anyway.... With images of all the creatures roaming around the kitchen locked into my mind (if the eating area looks like it does, what must the kitchen be like?), I couldn't bring myself to have anything but toast. It was not even warm. Debbie's pancakes were fine, but unremarkable. This is two straight breakfast joints we've struck out at. But there are a score or more of really good ones around. No need to go back here.More

This place was a diner and gas station in the 30s and has survived time. Good breakfast and we'll definitely stop here again when in KC.

Obviously a place frequented by locals and easy to see why. Cozy, quaint, with super-cordial staff and excellent food! I had the hamburger steak and eggs and it was excellent -- juicy and flavorful!

A handy location to eat, easy to find and park, very COVID conscious, good to see. Fast and friendly service, food was no frills, but good stuff, worth our shopping spree lunch. Everyone enjoyed their food.

This wasn’t on our radar but we were going to the Arabia Museum and wanted to eat close. Glad we did. These 2 employees worked their butts off. The 2 of them tag teamed waiting tables, taking orders, bussing the tables, etc. they were attentive...and did an outstanding job. As evidenced by our food, those in the kitchen did the same. Definitely will be back when in the area.More

Well my husband and I have eaten here before and really have enjoyed it, however, lately they have been opening late and closing early. Sadly, due to these issues we won't be going back to give them another chance. If you are going between 7am...and 1pm you should be fine.More

Delicious breakfast!! Great service! Great prices! I ordered the big breakfast, which was recommended by the staff. This was the half order portion!! There is a sausage patty, hash browns, eggs, biscuit all covered in sausage gravy. Lots of food!!

Food took forever. There were on 9 people in the place. Food was just ok and definitely over priced. Counter still had coffee stains on it from the last customer. Very disappointing

Proper old school American Diner. Great food and service. The kind of place you feel comfortable in. No airs and graces, just good food.

Overview: Was in the River Market area visiting my daughter and wanted to try this place out as I had heard good things about their breakfast. Pros: Found a seat quickly even though they were really busy. We sat down and was greeted by a...friendly waitress who quickly brought us coffee and creamers. She promptly took our orders and was very knowledgeable and efficient. She kept our coffee cups full! Food was quick in arriving, and very good. Pancake was big, even though it was a "small" pancake. Cons: Coffee wasn't as hot as I like it, but I imagine that is just personal preference. Overview: A great breakfast at a fair price with good service!More

I was there at the order window at 2:10pm and someone in the background yelled shut it down. The lady at the window told me they are now closed I asked what time do you close and she said at 2:30pm. I looked at my...phone and it said 2:10 I told her it's not 2:30 it's only 2:10 she said I know we are still closed. They saw me in line as they helped the couple in front of me.More

This little greasy spoon is an excellent place to have breakfast. We had a Philly Steak Omlette and the Pork Chop breakfast. The only downside is the pork chops were very small, which made them dry. They did have awesome seasoning on them though. The...home fries are wonderful dipped in sausage gravy. Coffee tasted watered down. Aside from those two things, I would definitely recommend eating here.More
