Cafe Sebastienne is a fine dining spot and offers some excellent brunch choices on the weekend. It's also a good place to take someone from out of town because it's special, and the food is excellent. Housed in the Kemper Museum, a small museum, provides a little time to browse after eating, and they have a lovely gift shop.

Café Sebastienne is now serving dinner on Thursdays. They have been since the beginning of 2016, but we were a little slow to discover this bit of information...ha! We went last night, July 28, and it was greater than great! Our server was friendly, but not overbearing, and he knew the food and drinks "inside out." My husband had a... More

The menu changes weekly. Can't recall the drink I had, it was peachy and fizzy and very refreshing. Very cool dining area right inside the museum.

open for lunch most days and dinner during the weekends. Excellent salads and light entrees for lunch. Dinner menu is very good. It is one of the best if not the best museum restaurants for dinner anywhere!

Has taken a step backward. Very disappointed on this visit. Was seated out in an enclosed patio where one could not hear onself speak. Have never been in such a noisy place. Soup was not good, like water. Doesn't barley soup usually have barley? Friend was not pleased with sandwiches.

Went for Sunday Brunch and while the environment is unusual (both in scale and in decor), as well as vibrant and engaging -- and the staff is friendly and accommodating, I was less than impressed with my food. I heard that it was difficult to get in so I even stopped in the day before to get a reservation. I... More

I am in town from ATL so ordering fish in the Midwest seemed risky but it looked good on other diners plates ;) awesome meal!!! Amazing mushroom sauce, fabulously prepared fish and top it off w a very well edited wine list! Awesome place, now I see why my family raves about this place!

While the Art in the Kemper Contemporary may not be to everyone's taste, the brunch seems to have a bit for everyone. Choices show some innovation and are tasty. The inside part is much less noisy than the atrium part. It can be a good place to eat before tackling the Nelson-Atkins Art Museum just down the street.

Local chef Jennifer Maloney keeps the menu fresh and innovative. Even when she's out of town the staff live up to expectations. Delicious salads, unique cocktails, extensive wine list and excellent service. What is there not to love?
