The historical experience and expertise of this 7th generation family BBQ goodness is stunningly strong. My husband had the burnt ends. I had the lamb ribs. Both, as well as sides of beans, potato salad and cole slaw were all outstanding. This was our perfect...first meal for a KC vacation. Highly recommend!More

The food was a wonderful representation of KC-BBQ. Fantastic. The atmosphere is nice and cozy. Also outdoor dining was available. Had the “ Roundup” which included 4 meats and 3 sides to feed 2 people. More than enough…we left with a doggy bag!” Great service...too!More

This place was recommended to us at a visitor center in town. It was near the freight yard in the crossroads arts district in an older brick building. There was plenty of parking in a large lot. It was the perfect place to be on...the covered outdoor patio as you could see the hustle and bustle of the city—the passing trains and buses. It definitely had a unique vibe and the food (BBQ) was very good, too. The portion sizes were perfect.More

We stopped here because of the #1 ratings on this app. We are disappointed. The food was bland. Their sauces are blah. Wings were dry, brisket was moist but bland, pulled pork dry, ribs fall off the bone but flavorless. The brownie was good. I...can say that the cheesy corn was the highlight of the meal. The beans were also good. We had burnt ends as an appetizer and those are not worth the price. Atmosphere is great, mixed drinks are good, and wait staff was on top of everything. We wouldn't stop here again though.More

Best barbecue chicken in the Universe. On my way to Lawrence so we stopped for some carry out from Jack Stack in Overland Park. I have eaten there before but this chicken was heavenly. My daughter had the loaded baked potato meal with veggies. Everything...down to the veggies was spectacular. They do not miss a trick unlike most restaurants that serve one good dish but neglect others.More

This place is wonderful with super tasty food! They have an outside patio that is so much fun to eat at! The ribs were fall off the bone but so meaty and delicious! The burnt ends were tasty and tender! All good!

One of the best bbq spots I’ve been to. Waiter was definitely on his game. The burnt ends, sausage, and wings were fantastic.

They get it right. All of the meats are delicious and the sides actually add to the meal. Cole Slaw and potato salad and beans…oh my! Great service too.

This location is in a beautiful old brick building with a large covered outdoor patio and several large rooms. We arrived during Happy Hour (Monday - Friday from 3 to 6 pm) so we ordered the 2 bone pork spare ribs priced at $4.50 on...the happy hour menu (normally $21.55 for 4 bones with a side). The meat just fell off of the bones and was very delicious. We weren’t extremely hungry, so my wife and I shared a Poor Russ sandwich described as having three diced meats (beef and both pork and sausage burnt ends) but it was hard to detect any meat other than the diced beef. We chose cheesy corn as our side which had some diced ham in it. It was good but next time we are going try the beans.More

One ordered the brisket sandwich and one the chopped brisket burnt pork ends sandwich. We both had fries and coleslaw. Because I had trouble deciding between the slaw and beans our amazing waitress brought both at no extra charge. BBQ was good and the slaw...amazing. We're from TX so a bit more pricey than what we are use to. Only downer was that it's very noisy ,More

Great lunch in an historic Milwaukee Road freight house! We had turkey sandwiches with appetizers over the lunch hour. The waitstaff was excellent and even brought us an extra plate of appetizers at no cost. The waiter was on continuous patrol seeking to assist diners...and keeping the drink glasses full. The service was so beyond the call I left at 30% tip! For this railfan, the atmosphere was beyond measure with views out of Kansas City Union Station and train traffic. My only suggestion is to replace some of the cows on the walls with Milwaukee Road or railroad themed art.More

Lives up to the rating. KC barbecue holds it's own with Texas barbecue. Great sides: cheesy corn and beans. Amazing meat: baby back ribs, sausage, and prime beef rib. Worth the wait.

We went during lunch mid week and had no trouble getting a seat. They have a good reputation so I wouldn’t think it matters what time you eat there. Should still be terrific
