Went for dinner Friday evening before my nieces graduation. Had heard great reviews and some not so good. Steak soup was ok. Nothing special. We had a variety of steaks. Again good. But definitely not worth the price. Quite frankly I've had as good or better for much cheaper. Creme brûlée was good. But really half a strawberry is all... More

The service (Brett) and the restaurant itself are fantastic. The food was average. Great wine and whiskey list which was reasonably priced. We were seated in the Jazz lounge (lower level) right next to the piano player and we could still have a conversation and also were able to listen to fantastic jazz music during our meal. Our server was... More

To late to partake in the meat loaf special but split some mussels and had sandwich and Cesar salad. Delicious meal. Wish it hadn't have been a business lunch as their cocktails look great. Love the atmosphere and the staff is exceptional. Walk back to old time KC and enjoy a fabulous meal. Lunch is a less expensive option to... More

Great decor in this historic building. Excellent, friendly service Outstanding wine list by the bottle, but the by the glass offerings could use an Italian red Appetizers were tasty. The caesar dressing was watery and lacked flavor. The wagyu strip steak at $60+ was tough and gristly The front of the house is doing a much better job than the... More

Live Jazz and decent steak, although service is sub par. If you like cigars, upstairs there is a reasonable cigar bar, A LOT of history to the building.

Made reservations for 6 pm and were told we could enjoy the table til 10 pm. How fantastic is that? Enjoyed the live jazz and the lower level ambience. Tons of history here you can feel. Ordered the best seller, "Majestic" steak and was utterly impressed. My wife had a bacon wrapped fillet and was equally pleased. Service was superb.... More

I am a member of the Pendergast Club, which is above the Majestic. I have had many meals from the restaurant that are always great! The salads and soups are great, the Lamb Chops the best in the city, the steaks flavorful, tender and always cooked as ordered. Also love the staff: Jordon the manager and Ben and Kenny are... More

Great experience in downstairs dining room with 3 piece jazz ensemble. Cozy tables and our charcuterie platter was huge and delicious and loved the green marbled cheese.

Great local steakhouse option! They have a nice menu of wide variety. The salads were fresh and tasty. The bread was unusual and delightful. The steaks were solid, enjoyable. They are not world class steaks, but really good. The server was distracted and we had a few issues, but they didn't ruin the meal.

A Really neat old "speak easy" ...we went to the basement, as they had a KILLER jazz band, and a great bartender, we had their signature whiskey drinks, ..all were great...one of the best places we visited in K.C....did not dine, ..but saw lots of great looking food being served, and people seemed very happy with it

Description
The Majestic Restaurant carries on the Kansas City traditions of great food and great jazz. We serve brunch Saturday and Sunday, lunch Monday-Friday, and dinner seven nights a week. Featuring Kansas City's best dry-aged beef, chops, and seafood and located in the historic Fitzpatrick Saloon building at 10th and Broadway in downtown Kansas City, The Majestic Restaurant offers a true Kansas City dining experience like no other. Enjoy a great steak and fine wine in our main dining room alongside a grand bar dating back to 1910, or have dinner in our lower level jazz club, the site of an actual speakeasy during prohibition, all while listening to some of Kansas City's best jazz musicians seven nights a week. An extensive wine list, creative cocktails by nationally renowned bartender Shawn Moriarty, a list of over 100 whiskeys, and a sinful selection of delectable homemade desserts provide the perfect accompaniment to the meal and the music.
