One of the best spots in KC! Stopped by for a cocktail beforehand at The Drum Room. They just released a new menu at the end of 2023 and there is something for everyone. This spot is family-friendly or makes for a great date night.

Quiet spot. Good food. Small menu, but the food was good and the service was very good. Jaime was very attentive and friendly. Nice experience all around.
Stopped in KC while traveling from Dallas to Northern MN. Wanted a good KC steak. Found Providence a few blocks from our hotel (Hotel Indigo). Great restaurant. Super staff, great bar and we both ordered the Rib Steak (medium rare). $50 a piece—but it was...worth every penny. Also had a Gunpowder Irish Gin Martini. I will definitely find that Gunpowder Irish Gin when back in North Texas. Don’t overlook Providence when in KC. Or the Indigo Hotel for that matterMore
Recently ( June 2020) my wife and I stopped here for dinner. Are at the bar. A very nice space with great staff. We each had the Prime Steak meal at $50 a plate. Awesome awesome awesome. KC often prides itself with steak meals. Providence...represented very well. We will return. And by the way. Try a Gunpowder Irish Gin Martini. I will be looking for the Gunpowder Irish Gin when I get home to North Texas. 😜More
The night I came here at 9 am I was the only one in the restaurant, but I was given a table and gracious service by the staff. Options for a vegetarian were limited. I had a pasta dish which was fine but for the...price I would have hoped for more options. Probably would not eat here again unless they do a better job with the menu, which is too bad because I would stay in the hotel again. The staff did their best to make me happy which was very much appreciated.More
Attended an event at the Convention Center and were looking for a quiet place with a sit-down dinner option. Selected this restaurant and were not disappointed. Service was fast and the waitress attentive throughout the meal. Really enjoyed their pork chop which had a smokey...flavor. Portions were large and price point was appropriate. The restaurant is close to both the Sprint Center and Convention center and will take reservations.More
Had dinner in this nicely decorated place before a Sprint Center concert (about 4 blocks away). The menu is a bit limited but our shared salad (Blue Note) and entrees (Providence burger and shrimp & grits) were very good. There is a well chosen list...of wines by the glass and our service was excellent (Molly). The staff is aware of concert times and makes an effort to be pretty quick with drinks & food while not making you feel rushed. It was a fine way to start the evening!More
In town for USA Fencing’s NAC tournament, this was a nice surprise for dinner. Our server was friendly and knew the menu items well. The traditional meat loaf was moist and flavorful. Vegetable side dishes were nicely prepared. Great for a business dinner or team...dinnerMore
Visited this restaurant with a group of about 7 or 8 friends. Very little options for the vegetarian. Friendly staff who kept topping up your water. I ordered fries and fresh seasonal vegetables, and was given about 8 string beans? I queried it, and was...told that was it. I was pretty cross that fries and 8 beans came to $10 plus an added service charge, so I was disappointed all round really. They had a file of old newspaper cuttings which was interesting to flick through.More
Sort of limited menu -- food ok, as was service, but expected more in a top hotel. Nice ambiance probably was part of the old Drum Room
Was looking for a place downtown to enjoy a good (and affordable) Kansas City steak, and the Providence New American Kitchen didn't disappoint. Entered through a noisy, crowded bar area but the dining room was actually comfortable and fairly quiet. Wait staff was friendly and...accommodating -- we shared a steak and ordered a couple of extra sides: no problem.More
Definitely more of a bar than a restaurant. It's nice and elegant and the staff is super friendly and polite. It's really a hotel bar though you can access it from outside. It's the bar restaurant for the Hilton presidents and which is a great...hotel but very upscale.More
Visited this location prior to a concert two block from the Sprint Center. Jan the hostess and Dennis our server were very pleasant, kind and welcoming. Dennis was very prompt and always kept our glasses full. Us girls shared a handful of appetizers, the crab...cakes, charcuterie board, fritos and duck fat sauce, the wedge salad, brsucetta were all of our faves. Very delicate cuisine. The food was very tasty and didn't take much time to be brought out, we will plan to go back! Heard the shrimp and grits is divine for the next time.More
We had the meatloaf - really good. We both asked for different vegies than what came on that menu item - no problem - even when I ordered it cooked differently than their norm Very tasty - we ate everything and even had dessert (also...tasty, but a bit pricey). The service was great. We truly enjoyed ourselves.More
I dined there on May 12th with a party of 12 before my niece's high school graduation, ambiance and location of the restaurant were very nice as was the service by our waitress, after that however the wheels came off We had issues with the...food quality, value and management of the restaurant. To start, two of our party ordered clam chowder, both were served lukewarm at best soup, little bit worrisome, but quickly rectified. Our meals arrived and 5 of our group commented that their main courses were cold, the manager stopped by our table shortly after the meals were served and asked how things were. We noted that the several of us received meals that were cold, her comment to us was, "What would you like me to do? We are busy and we don't have a microwave in the restaurant" then walked away from our table and our amazed looks at this answer. She never approached us again. It should be noted that these meals included several $35-$45 steaks, not a burger and fries. We were shocked by the manager's refusal to make things right or offer us a break on the bill for unsatisfactory meals. If you are going to charge fine dining prices, consumers should be able to expect fine dining quality and treatment. We were not shocked afterwards by how empty the restaurant was even though it was a block away from a theater that was hosting the Lion King as well as 4 consecutive high schools graduations. Stay away, its overpriced, quality of the food was poor and the management was better suited for the coat check rather than the dining room.More
