Best meal/experience we've had in a long time! I don't know where to start. Okay - Amelia--personable, went out of her way to answer our questions, efficient, unobtrusive and attentive service. Food - creative German. We both ordered the soup of the day--chilled cucumber--perfect for a hot, summer day. The consistency was smooth, the flavor delicate, the garnishes exquisite (piped... More

Four of us went to Affare in Kansas City last Saturday night. This was my first trip there. The two guys started with their version of a charcuterie board that was amazing. It was filled with all sorts of meats from mortadella to pate. There were cheeses and their wonderful home made pickles and a board of breads that were... More

This was just another awesome recommendation from the Culinary Tour we took in KC. We had lunch here and was welcomed by one of the owner's Katrin. The space was simply beautiful and we look forward to another exciting dinner evening here. The food was fresh, artistic and simply scrumptious. Definitely a contender for James Beard nomination.

Affare is one of the best and most unique dining experiences you'll have in KC. You'll try things you never thought you like/order and you'll love it. You have exceptional dishes with exciting preparations, but with ingredients you previously found ordinary or even mundane. Try their outstanding cocktails as well.

This food was amazing from the tea to the streusel. I had no idea what to expect with German food, but I loved every bite. The hand crafted brats must be sampled, and the stroganoff was divine. The atmosphere and presentation are also top notch.

That's how Affare describes itself. It was restaurant week when we went so it's a set 3 course meal and it's pretty good. We had german food at Grunnauer before and this one is less traditional and more gourmet. Be warned, parking is hard to come by with all the road construction. On to the meal- the affare soup is... My son had been on me for some time to try this place. I spent some time in Germany and used to be fluent. Loved the menu for this special week. Salad light and fresh. The Salmon pasta cream dish was wonderful because of all the flavors, yet was not too heavy as some cream dishes can be-perfect serving size.... More

Affare has always provided great food, great service, and has also had wonderful bar service with good wines and beers. We tried brunch today and no surprise, they handle brunch well too. The service was low key and excellent. The Jaegerschnitzel was scrumptious with a wonderful mushroom sauce. The Affare omlet was very good as well. The breads/toast are tasty... More

We made reservations for Christmas dinner at Affare for 1:30. We came early and much to my surprise, were promptly seated. This is the first time we've eaten at Affare as we live out of town and were in KC for the holiday weekend. My husband had the trout special and I had the duck. While neither is particularly a...
