Business dinner on a hot-hot-hot Tuesday night turned out to be a treat -- and we'll definitely be back for more. Atmosphere in this walk-up former industrial location is spartan but attractive and effective -- you know it's going to be edgy. Menu is limited but widely varied -- certainly not "German food" as one usually thinks of it. Can't... More

The place is beautiful with excellent decor. The menu presents a great selection of foods I haven't found elsewhere in Kansas City. The taste was interesting; we couldn't place what it was but it tasted like curry. An unexpected taste when you're eating steak. Service was very slow and the restaurant had three servers and five occupied tables. Only on... More

All of the food looked and tasted delicious. We went for brunch. The Beignets were our starter. Yum. And we ended with the Apfelstrudel. Also yum. I had the Käsespätzle - be sure you say you don't want the egg if you don't want the egg, even though it shows as the egg is extra on the menu! If I... More

A solid spectacularly fresh menu. This place should be higher on the KC list!! The building of the streetcar KC kept people away from this favorite place but loyal Affare lovers kept it afloat and now it is soaring. Parking in the Crossroads is tough but there is a parking lot on the back side of the block and cut... More

Affare was good, but not excellent. We have never been to Affare so my wife, our niece and I decided to try it for lunch today. I must tell you that parking in that area is quite the challenge. The atmosphere is nice and very contemporary. The soup of the day was a white asparagus soup, which we all ordered,... More

We came here before the opera... Oh my gosh, as a food snob this exceeded my expectations for atmosphere, food, and service. The rare trifecta! It's a great repurposed building - old, authentic, feels intimate with the layout but a decent amount of space and distance Between tables. Loved our food.. Green salad superb dressing, the asparagus soup was plated... More

We cam here for a meal before a show at the Kauffman Center. We ordered from the 3 course menu. While it limited the options, the food was good. I had the carrot soup, chicken breast and a lemon-coconut dessert. The had recommended wine options for the meal. Good value, taste and service.

Affare is a little place of paradise that you must visit soon. I love this place. Everything about this place, the food, the drinks, the decor exude passion. The food and drink are delicious and inventive. The decor is beautiful, minimal yet elegant. And the service is top notch. The Pannise or chickpea fries are incredible! Perfectly fried with a... If you find yourself in Kansas City, make the trek to Affare. A must is the drink "I'll have Another". We definitely did! Best drink experienced in years! The chick pea fries were a special treat. Definitely worth an excursion.
