We went for supper on Saturday night after Thanksgiving. The restaurant was not busy at all, but the service was great & food was delicious. We enjoyed the Non-Vegetarian Dinner for 2. The sauce for the chicken tasted a bit like canned tomato soup, but...the Saag was very good. Make sure you ask for some Raita ... it was very flavorful and full of cucumbers. The meal only includes a single piece of Naan (cut in half) so order more (if you, like me, want more). They also substituted the rice pudding for gulab jamun which was appreciated.More

Stopped in for dinner and were warmly welcomed by the owner, then enjoyed friendly, funny and attentive service by Dea. Among 4 of us, we tried 3 soups - coconut (very sweet with shredded coconut in it), chicken (thick tomato-y broth with chicken and spices)...and Mulligatawny (puréed lentil with spices and tomato). The coconut was so sweet that I had to stop eating it. The other 2 were good. The butter chicken was delicious, and the people who ordered chicken tikka liked it, but the sag paneer was only so-so. We had plain naan, and some with garlic and onion. It was a little too crispy for my taste. A pleasant dining experience where we felt appreciated, but not my favorite Indian food.More

The buffet always hits all the spots especially since it includes Chai and Mango Lassi. Great service even though its a buffet.

I came here for lunch which is buffet style and the food was sooo good. I had too much naan and chicken tikka masala but it was worth it. They also had complementary mango lassi and chai at the buffet. Parking is on the street...so if you're getting close and see a spot, take it.More

I've come here twice and it is delicious, but the best part is Dea! She is knowledgeable and she makes you feel special!

We were in the mood for Indian food and this establishment was close by so we stopped for lunch. They offer a small but nice buffet that had a nice variety of dishes both mild and spicy. It offers the diner the opportunity to try...something new without a full entree commitment! We enjoyed our meal and will return the next time we get a craving for Indian food.More

I was on my own a few weeks ago and wanted good, solid Indian. This was the perfect choice. It isn’t fancy. It’s more like a neighborhood spot. Funky neighborhood. It was terrific. So glad I found it. I’ll be back.

Very friendly owner, and the food was super tasty but the buffet was very small and some miscommunication due to language barrier made our visit just okay. But I'd definitely suggest it as an alternate to your average lunch fair.

I love a great Indian meal. This was not it. Not even the naan was good. So, if you know what to expect, go elsewhere. If you tried this and didn't like it, try another Indian restaurant. If you like this place, you have my...blessings. But you could do so much better.More

The food we had here was delicious and I have no complaints, but for some reason when we were done eating they refused to serve us any longer. I kept trying to flag down the waiter/waitress FOR THE CHECK and they kept saying "We'll be...right there," and then never came. Hello! I was trying to pay you!!!! We finally got up like we were about to leave and they presented us with the check.More

I am obsessed with Aloo Gobi and get it at every Indian restaurant that I eat at. This one did not disappoint. My friends also really enjoyed their dishes. Good menu selection, a lot of seating, friendly service and good prices.

Well made and spiced/flavored, Taj Palace offers a good value and selection of Indian foods. We sampled a variety of curries and entrees, all were good, very tasty, offering a good savoriness in their flavoring. Our friends tell us it is always like this, always...fresh and constantly good.More

Lunch buffet is great. Many of the meals are best I've had in KC with others being among the top. Lamb korma and chili chicken are both top notch.

I find the dinner portions a little small, and also for my family, the entire point of eating Indian is variety. So we love the lunch buffet. Price is around $9. The dishes are on weekly rotation, but they always have butter chicken, spicy chicken,...lamb, tandoori chicken, several veggie dishes, pakoras, a basic salad bar, and plenty of naan and chai tea.More

I eat here at least once a month. It is consistently great food. Though I've never been to India, a friend of mine who spends six months in France and six months in India every year came to visit for a couple of weeks and...we went to Taj Palace and he commented that it was authentic and great food. If you want the real thing, rather than an Americanized menu, this is the place!More
