The atmosphere and service are great. It is in a restored hotel building, and everything about the experience was very good. The problem we encountered was with the items on the menu. Everything seemed to be "out there", and just didn't seem to have any...More

The Rieger is an historic place; the hotel opened in 1915. The menu is not extensive and changes seasonally. But the menu has items you don't often see such as sweetbreads or stuffed lamb's heart or rabbit sausage. The menu is divided so you can...More

I was in the mood for a food adventure and this dish did not disappoint me. Presentation of the stuffed heart on a bed of mashed potatoes and grilled kale was a perfect blend of texture and flavor; the heart was not chewy. Colleagues who...More

Great vibe and atmosphere that matches well with the delicious food. I ordered soup and pasta and both were delicious. Dessert was amazing too. A great place to dine in Kansas City.

Fantastic quality of food but not a lot of choices especially for a picky eater. Service is a bit slow for such a small restaurant.

We had dinner last Saturday at the Rieger and the food was great. Service was a bit disjointed: I received my entree when others in the group received their salad(???). All in all a wounderful experience.

A little disappointed. My food was okay. Service okay. I know a Saturday night is a crazy night. Our waitress was busy but I felt she could have been a little more attentive. Or maybe friendly and personable??

We recently booked the private room for a group of 10 celebrating a work event. I was trying to find a place with a varied menu, one that would let us all order off the regular menu instead of having to do a group set...More

We had the great fortune of attending a family birthday celebration at this restaurant. Located near the heart of the city, it had a wonderful vibrancy and style. Our service was superb and our food was excellent. Having discovered the Rieger bourbon some time ago,...More
