Had a late Valentine's dinner here and we were both thrilled with the quality and quantity. We had a sashimi sampler and a couple rolls and everything was great. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Really generous portions of fish, solid spicy wasabi, the Yellowtail...and scallion roll and firecracker roll were also great. The recent remodel is very nice athmosphere.More

“best sushi in Belton” That is a sentence I never thought I would say. Not that there is anything wrong with Belton Missouri, it’s just the place where you’d expect to find quality sushi. My wife and I were on our way out of town...and stopped in Belton to see what our options were for dinner. Knowing that the further from civilization we got, the more limited our options would be. Neither of us wanted to end up at Applebee’s or a road side fast food joint. We searched on TripAdvisor and the #1 restaurant nearby was this place. We were both extremely skeptical about it - we figured it would either live up to the hype or be horribly and hopefully comically disappointing. Luckily it did indeed live up to its prestigious title. The sushi was very good quality and very reasonably priced. Did I mention that you can get a boatload of sushi?? They literally have a dish called The Sushi Boat - or something to that effect. Basically a very good variety of sashimi and rolls served on a wooden boat that takes up a good portion of your table. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and I can’t wait to go back.More

This is my husband and I's favorite sushi restaurant in all of the KC area. We've yet to have a bad roll at this restaurant, unlike all the other sushi places we've visited around KC. The staff is always nice, the food is out quick...and quality is always consistently good.More

Absolutely great Sushi restaurant. The food is prepared extremely well by an experienced chef and the staff is excellent! Jay, the owner, is ever present and obviously takes pride in his restaurant and ensuring a pleasant dining experience. I have been all over the States...and in several Asian countries and can confidently write that the quality of the food at Sushi Haru is top rate.More

I have eaten here several times and it is always good although I should declare I am not a sushi fan so this is not in my wheelhouse as far as eating out is concerned. However they have flavorsome additional dishes and the tempura is...excellent and on this last visit I had the box option which included tender and well cooked bolgogi. I would certainly rate this restaurant "good" despite the lack of such a rating here. There are regular tables as well as low level options for larger parties where you remove your shoes and sit with your legs in a sunken area. It works well although it is far more awkward to get in and out and also for the server who was great on our visit, but found it hard to serve all with ease. The food and service are therefore good but a couple of gripes. First, and most important, this restaurant DOES NOT SERVE COFFEE! I have, frankly, never heard of such a thing. How hard is it to have a coffee pot on the go? I don't eat dessert but very much like a coffee at the end of the meal. This is the only time I have ever been told they don't serve coffee in a restaurant. Our server mentioned that many people are surprised by this. Then why not fix it? Also the nature of our table and the food we ordered made it hard to clear the food away but still, it was left for the whole meal until we got up to leave. Not ideal. I'll go here again and it is good, but seriously, no coffee?!More

My wife and I have been to several sushi restaurants in the KC area and Sushi Haru is by far the most consistent and delicious sushi we've found. We have yet to have a bad roll there, though we've tried several. My wife is partial...to the Pink Lady roll, which is wrapped in salmon instead of the normal seaweed.More

I've been here a few times with a friend, always later in the evening after we get off work at 8. We have always had excellent service, food is delivered quickly and accurately and tastes delicious! It is quickly becoming our "regular" sushi place!

I ordered two rolls and they were good. The waitress did a good job, but the Chefs were not very engaged at all. It was late in the evening and things were closing up. I would go again if I was in the area.

Obsessed. My co-worker has been talking about Sushi Haru for years and I FINALLY got the chance to try it for lunch. Sushi Haru has a selection that rivals anyplace I have ever been before. I promise you they still have your lame-o California Roll...or maybe, the Spider Roll, if you think yourself all that, but Sushi Haru has dozens upon dozens of awesome, custom rolls that I haven't seen elsewhere. It makes the trip south (practically to Arkansas) worth it! I ended up ordering the udon, Beiber roll, and Mount Fuji. I know, I know.. the Beiber Roll, but with pineapple, mango, tuna and a white cream sauce it was just as fruity as the real Justin. And it was so good. I've never had a roll with the white sauce before and I have no idea what it is, but I'd absolutely get it again. Mount Fuji was also just too epic to pass up. It is a mound of rice covered in sauce and spices and then topped with spicy crab meat which is topped with tuna. Thank heavens I was using chopsticks because they forced me to eat this monster at a reasonable pace.. instead of inhaling it like I wanted to. The udon was great as well (though admittedly nothing too special). I can't wait to return here with my husband.. the menu is large and it took me about 15 minutes of decided between 30 different things before making my choices. The prices are a little higher than other strip-mall places I've been to lately ($9+ a roll), but the quality is all there. Great selection, creative and talented sushi chefs, and a clean, comfortable environment. They also do custom work based on what you are craving, just ask! Sushi perfection!More

The food is probably among the very best Japanese cuisine in the city. The staff is courteous and attentive. The owner is engaging and involved in pleasing the diners. It's apparent he takes pride in his establishment.
