In this trying time of distancing (the antithesis of a restaurant experience) some businesses are having trouble adjusting. Joe, at Avenues, understands how to make the curbside business work. Place your order over the phone and pay (don't forget to tip). Give them your desired...pickup time, show up, receive the perfectly packaged meal at your car, done. When we got home we unpacked our meal. I had never seen prime rib cut 2 inches thick and cooked raw enough so that heating made it perfectly pink. The tomato bisque soup was a wonderful start and the baked potato was a perfect side. This wasn't a complicated meal. It was a fantastic meal.More

Thank you Avenue's for the great steak and shrimp scampi to-go order for dinner. With all the crazy C-19 happening, it was nice to have quality comfort food. We look forward when we can eat in the dining room or the bar with cocktails! Miss...you!More

We didn't know there was a prix fixe menu when making reservations for Valentine's Day/evening. Service and hostess were great. Food was very bland and uninspiring at best. Seemed like banquet food. Everything from beginning to end seemed to be prepared hours before we arrived....Desserts....they were out of half of them by 7 pm. The ones that were left seemed hodge podge.... all seemed to be cakes and such out of a box or store bought. We wanted to be "wowed" on Valentine's Day especially for a tab over $100 for two of us. Restaurants should up their game on days like this and not leave customers feel like they were just a money grab because it was Valentine's Day.More

Taste ok, but soup and potatoes were not hot. KC strip was a poor cut, 3 of 9 that ordered it, none were impressed. Desserts were great, but no coffee refills.

I went in for lunch on monday during restaurant week. I was sat right away after I let the host know I had a reservation. Emma, my server, was very sweet. She let me know the specials and the dishes for restaurant week. They had...a lot of good choices but I went with the lobster bisque, lobster ravioli, and apple cake. The lobster bisque had good flavor but very little lobster. The ravioli was really delicious. the sauce was creamy and it was topped with shrimp. The dessert I wanted was the Rumchata mousse cake, but sadly they were out of it. I got the apple cake. It was fluffy and moist but the icing was very sweet. I had Emma box up my leftovers and dessert. She was a good server; prompt, and caring. It is a nice place and I'm glad I gave it a try.More

Some coworkers and I went here for lunch for restaurant week. We made a reservation and I was glad we did as it was busy. It was rather loud but we were able to hear our own conversation among the 4 of us. Our server...greeted us and throughout our meal was attentive and friendly. Our food was great. All of us liked what we ordered. The lobster ravioli came with large shrimp. The veggies that were served with the salmon were perfectly tender with a nice butter flavor. Overall we all really enjoyed our meal. My only complaint was the length of time it took for lunch. After 75 minutes of being seated we had to get our desserts to go as we needed to get back to the office.More

This restaurant is in the charming Brookside shopping area. We had reservations for four on Sunday at 11 AM. They were busy, but not packed, and seated us quickly. My husbands eggs Benedict were average, nothing special. My omelette was perfectly cooked, and came with...toasty potatoes. The buffet side dishes were good, but not outstanding. Our waitress was excellent, the leisurely timing perfect, and we weren’t pushed out to turn the table. I have to comment on the acoustics. The restaurant was very noisy, and not because it was crowded or people were loud, but because the acoustics were harsh. There are many ways to reduce noise levels in restaurants, and I hope avenues bistro tries that-it would make for much more enjoyable dining.More

We have purposely stayed away from Avenues Bistro due to our previous experience with an obnoxious waiter.....so after a year we decided to give it another go....the food was very good, even though they were out of our favorite dish at 6:20 on a Saturday...night....the atmosphere was lively and we enjoyed our food and the company. I wish our waitress was in a better mood, as I felt like we seemed to be a bother to her.....she wasn’t mean, just not friendly!More

Once again, Avenues Bistro has fullfilled our request for a special evening. We choose Avenues as our Celebration Location. My husband had the Halibut entrée, I chose Parisian Chicken. Salads completed our Anniversary Dinner. We are truly grateful for gluten free and Lactose free selections...to choose from. Thanks again for another memorable experience.More

This was a great place for brunch! The prices were better than some other brunch places I’ve been to in KC. I had the eggs benedict... the crab cake one and the bacon avocado one. So good!! I definitely recommend this place.
