The idea of the open grill in the middle of City Market is spectacular. And indeed, the spectacle is pretty impressive... the grill guys are pleasant and interactive, and watching the process makes your salivary glands activate almost immediately. We ate well, and I have no complaints, but the actual sandwiches (Philly cheese steaks) were not as tasty as the ones I have had in Philly. Maybe that is too much to ask, but they were good, and it was a nice lunch.

I love this place! Discovered it last year on a trip and specifically drove back to buy again. Pastrami is absolutely the best!!! Love that they have bread dipping spices by the scoop. Seems silly to drive all this way for $200 worth of items but there is no where in a 300 mile radius of us that has the quality of items they have.

We stopped here for a quick bite to eat after walking around the Arabia Steamboat museum across the street. The line was a bit long for a Thur early afternoon but it was a beautiful early Sep summer day on a day lots of tourists were in town for the big NFL opener that night. The Italian sandwich we ordered was fresh and delicious.

I go here once a week to pick up various items: fresh mozzarella, parmesan-romano, pastrami, roast beef, mortadella, their home-made Italian sausage links, olives, and whatever looks good. The deli case is exciting with so many meats and cheeses to choose from. I have tried many of their sandwiches and they are all delicious. In the warm months I also shop their produce market which is just outside their store. The servers are all super friendly and the prices are decent. The store is very homey and they sell all kinds of things from Italy -cookies, gelato, pasta, olive oil, wine, many types of olives in barrels. You choose how much you want and they weight it and you pay by the pound. I recommend you check it out - you will find something you must have!

From Turkey drumsticks to Philly sandwiches (meat, peppers, onions and cheese) this is a great way to pick up food cooked hot and fresh.

A tradition of mine is to pop in to Carollo's after a lunch on at the City Market. I enjoy looking at the selection of canned tomatoes, olive oil, pasta, and the delicacies in the meat and cheese refrigerated cases.
One of these days, I'll order one of the sidewalk grill burgers or dogs with fries, but my main mission is to get the light and tasty desserts.
Cookies are flaky, and cannoli have fantastic, creamy filling.

It was so great, I came back two days in a row. First, the Philly Cheesesteak is wonderful! The footlong Italian Sausage on farmers market days is to die for. I am an extremely picky eater, so to see a menu where I would sample everything is rare. However, Carollo’s is one of those places!

We live close by and I enjoy stopping by for an italian sausage cooked on their outdoor grill and served on a bun. I recommend adding peppers to the sandwich.

While visiting the steamboat museum I was looking for a quick lunch and I saw Carroll’s. Great decision, tasty sandwiches and friendly staff. Reminds me of North Beach in San Francisco. Truly Italian

Love this huge sandwich and we get one every time we go into this store. The bread is crispy on the outside and chewy inside. They put on thinly shaved Italian meats with provolone. And you can add fresh sliced mozzarella and regular or spicy giardelli mix. So good!

Had the Napalitano and the wife had the meatball sandwich. Both were on authentic bread and very fresh. Definitely could share one sandwich!
