Wow, what a terrific place! We drove up from OKC to see family near Joplin and visited Wilder’s for dinner. Everything from the atmosphere to the service to the meal was outstanding. I’d like to think we have a few classy steakhouses at home but...Wilder’s exceeds them all. Everyone’s meal was great as were the desserts. The bartender did a fabulous job on the drinks; pours weren’t to heavy and not weak. And the young lady who served us was extremely attentive. This place is outstanding and was certainly worth making the extra drive into Joplin. Thanks for a great experience.More

We were in Joplin on a Monday evening and planned to go to Woody’s Wood-Fire Pizza, but they are closed on Mondays. Our choice became Wilder’s. I had Wilder’s Mignon and my partner had Medallions Au Poivre. Both were delicious. My side was a Caesar...Salad, but they left off the onions. Our server assumed I didn’t want them but never asked - I like mine with. My partner had Grilled Asparagus- a great choice. We shared a great dessert. Also great retro atmosphere.More

As you enter, you feel the aura of a building built in 1908. You are sat at a table with the hardwood look and lighting from 1930s. Drinks (Moscow mule & Old Fashion) were equal to any high end steakhouse. The wine list was excellent...and less than you would pay at a high end steakhouse. The service was timely and professional. The food... the DuPont filet, and the Gouda twice baked potato were better than any steakhouse I've ever been to. Any questions? 😁More

The last time we were at Wilder’s we were moving our daughter in to the area for medical school. Now four years later we have returned for graduation to a post pandemic experience….and are happy to report Wilder’s has fared well! We were a party...of seven and reserved a table in this busy restaurant. Dress is casual or upscale casual - your choice. The atmosphere is historic and we were very happy with the appetizers and wine….then delirious over the entrees which were sensational. Do not miss the creamed corn….it’s the best we all had ever enjoyed….and the cauliflower gratin, Brussels sprouts, creamed spinach and truffle Mac and cheese were the perfect compliments to the filets we each ordered (except grandpa who had salmon and enjoyed it). You need to save room for dessert — the chocolate cake is fabulous and the bread pudding absolutely sublime. Paired with a French press pot of coffee it made for a great end to the meal. The only downside to our visit is that with our daughter relocating for residency we are not likely to return….but if ever in the area most certainly will. Highly highly highly recommend!More

We were joining friends to eat at Wilders for a holiday fun evening. Arriving at the restaurant we were ask if we had a reservation and said yes. The hostess wanted to seat us at a booth by the swinging kitchen doors. I said I...didn’t want that seat and since there were plenty of open tables, I didn’t see a problem. She got in a huff and grabbed the menus and went two booths down, threw the menus and silverware down, turned her back on us and didn’t say a word. I thought it was very rude. We decided to leave.More

Went here with friends from Webb City. The food is very good and like most high end places it is expensive for a small portion. We all enjoyed our food and I would eat here again but don’t know if we will pass this way...again. It is a quaint place and most people would find the food and atmosphere enjoyable.More

We had a large group and service was good. Might be a bit overpriced but steak was perfectly prepared. Waitress got someone's order wrong and they ended up with the very pricey crab legs instead of what they actually ordered. But overall a good meal...for a large group. Just plan on $$$!More

I ordered well done Medallions and had to send them back twice. The manager was really nice and didn’t charge me for the steak and gave us dessert for free.! The steak oscar was not good. The best part was the service and the dessert.

Don’t be fooled by the outside appearance. Inside is much different. Art Deco would be a good description. The menu is extensive with plenty of appetizers and salads to choose from. The cocktail menu is the same. Now the good part, the entrees. Steak, pork...and fish. Our group had one of each. All were excellent. The service was very good and our waiter knew the menu. Highly recommend.More

We went to Wilder’s on a cold day in February. Our meal, drinks and the atmosphere were very warming. We started with the crab dip and flatbread. It was very good. I was impressed by their cocktail list and had a French 75. This was...my first one and it was very good. We then had a basket of bread. This maybe my only complaint. The bread was good but I am certain it is a brand called Sister Schubert’s. I would have expected house made bread. The butter that they serve is very sweet and tasty. Our meals were delicious. I had the Wilder Mignons which I would highly recommend. Others in my group had blackened chicken, seafood special and truffled Mac and cheese and twice backed potato. The wine list was nice. My wife had a Riesling from Germany and I had a glass of Boudreaux. We finished by sharing a piece of chocolate layer cake that was served with a candle. The restaurant has a long bar but all of the remaining seats looked to be booths that were private and you cannot see the other guests. Each seat has a light that can be dimmed. The meal was expensive but it was my birthday and it was a great meal.More

The Bordeaux, draft beer, and Manhattan’s combined with the bruschetta were an excellent start. We had several Items on the dinner menu and all were served to our expectations with overall excellent effect. The chocolate cake was also perfecto! The price is high, perhaps $$$-$$$$...range, but the hostess/server/bartender softened the blow to our liking. One day we will go back and hopefully enjoy it as much.More
