My wife and I have enjoyed the food and service provided at the Red Onion for nearly 20 years. My favorite sandwich is what they call the Bleu Moo. It's a very well cooked ribeye meat, thinly sliced, with bleu cheese, and other great ingredients. It's making me hungry thinking about it! See you there!

Stopped in for a late lunch today while visiting family in Joplin. It was nice to see a locally owned and relish cafe in a town that has many chain restaurants. We enjoyed the Blu Mo, Black bean burger and special grilled chicken with shrimp. I have to admit that the shrimp was rather bland and tasteless however. But the... More

ordered takeout and it was terrible. I ordered the Penne from Heaven and it hardly had any sauce,it was very dry. Then I ordered the French Onion soup and it had hardly any cheese or bread, just the onions and soup and both were very cold. My husband ordered a cheese burger and it was cold. It was suppose to have... More

Great food, great staff, may have to wait a few minutes during busy times, but that is because of the quality of the place itself.

Ordered the a lot of tender love sandwich with fries. Great name for a beef tenderloin sandwich prepared medium rare. Great tasting and very tender. Great alternative to a traditional burger. Service was excellent and ambiance very charming. Wait was acceptable without a reservation.

Couldn't find this 2nd Red Onion on 32nd to review so doing it under the main restaurant. Mostly the same food. The roasted red potatoes are seasoned TOO spicy hot. They weren't the first years the restaurant was open, but have gotten hotter and hotter! The smoked chicken dip is terrific, as are the house salad dressings and the carrot... More

Decided to stop in based on other reviews. I always try to find local joints while travelling for business ended up trying this one. Located in the heart of downtown Joplin in a brick building, nice cosy setting and decor. French onion soup was neither bad nor spectacular. Saltier than I would have liked. Had the Chicken Tuscany, grilled chicken,... More

We drove to Joplin for the day. On our way back to Tulsa we decided to stop and have some dinner. We ultimately decided to go to The Red Onion Cafe. I ordered the French Onion Soup. Thought it was good, it was alittle strong for my taste though. My husband had the Potato Soup, so we traded. It was... More

Saw it was rank #1, so we stopped. The dreadlocked girl who showed us to our seat was rude and put off by the fact that our autistic daughter could not sit by the speaker that was playing music. Our waiter was polite and attentive which made up for the hostess. We ordered our food and it took a great... More
