We enjoyed the varied menu and the large portions. All of our meals were delicious, and the ambience was also quite nice. The restaurant has character. We've visited twice, and the food was great both times. The service, however, was not the best either time. The great food made up for the empty water glasses and rushed servers though. We'd... My friend and I both got pasta dishes. The food was just average. Restaurant feels old. My soda glass smelled musty. Probably took on the smell of the cabinet it was kept in. Never-the-less, I would still go here again. The staff was great- very friendly and helpful. The prices are decent. Besides, there aren't a whole lot of choices... More

We visited on a day trip to see the capital building. The dinner menu is wide and varied. I had a vegetarian pasta dish that was alright, but not great. My partner had the special, which also alright, but not awesome. The best part was the beer, wine, and, cheese. Generous portions, fair service, locally owned, come as you are.

I had noticed this restaurant with an outdoor patio on a different visit & heard many good things. We were in town again for the holiday weekend. The patio is beautifully decorated & in a neat location. It was Friday of 4th of July weekend. They must have been understaffed because the service was very slow!! We ordered a small... More

Madison's Café was recommended for lunch when we inquired at the desk after our tour of the State Capitol building. It is a small "café" style establishment, and being a weekday, we were seated quickly. It does offer outdoor seating, but we opted for a table inside. They have a full menu, offering a wide variety of choices. Our order... More

Wow! The staff and service is so awesome at this quaint location in downtown Jefferson City. The portions were huge and the service extremely fast. The homemade bread really added to a delightful lunch. My son had chicken Alfredo that was cooked to perfection. I had a large house salad. Neither of us could finish. Our waitress was so helpful... Pasta dishes are excellent. Our favorite is the tortellini. Service is normally good. Atmosphere is formal and traditional.

We were at the Governor's Mansion and walked to Madison Cafe on a recommendation from a friend. Service was great! Food was great! I had a salad and it was huge and awesome. Highly recommend this restaurant.

I love European cafe dining and, of course good food. Madison's Cafe has this and more. I would highly recommend their house salad with artichokes, romaine, red onions, Parmesan, in a red wine vinaigrette. This with the warm, crusty bread is almost a meal! Almost, but, save room for the star of the show, their pasta! So many pastas to... More

My wife and I had a Father's Day dinner at Madison Cafe, one of our regular stops when in Jc. Lots of artichokes and a very light but flavorful dressing made for very good salads. Her clam bisque was the right texture and delicate taste. My shrimp Katherine had one of the best garlic cream sauces I have ever had.... More

Description
Madison's Café, a ‘Jefferson City Tradition’ since 1982, offers casual, relaxed, yet elegant dining, with a focus on northern Italian, American and eclectic cuisine: mouthwatering appetizers, salads, soups, sandwiches, pasta, hand-cut steaks, seafood, and a variety of signature dishes. Our menu changes often, reflecting use of locally sourced products: from our daily, fresh, locally baked bread, locally bred and raised Wagyu burgers, produce, to herbs from our own herb garden. Our gluten-free fare, whole wheat pasta, and a wide variety of vegetarian fare pleases the most sensitive palate. Our environment is unique and inviting—a gathering place for family and friends, or perfect for that romantic evening out. We have two excellently appointed private dining rooms for any special event or business meeting. Off-site catering services are available from small intimate gatherings to over 300. Carry out is always available. Al fresco dining on our large patio is wonderful when weather permits! Come to Madison's where you restore your spirit and share the simple pleasures with family and friends…one delicious bite at a time Located in beautiful downtown, two and a half blocks from the Capitol; a half-block from the Governor's Mansion; five blocks from the historic Missouri State Penitentiary; three blocks from the Amtrak Station; about a 1/2 mile from the bridge bike/walk crossing to the Katy Trail, and directly across the street from the Madison Street parking garage.
