We didn't eat there even though what they were serving looked great. We did enjoy some beers and the names are great. We had a very good time and the atmosphere is really amazing.

Great lunch spot happy hour or dinner. House Microbrews here. Large portions of food and wood fired pizzas. Great outdoor patio and bocce ball courts as well. Good place to go and relax!

Just had lunch here.. salad was decent . Kids burgers was red in the middle...we were done eating. Told the server about the burger being red. She offered a new one.. we couldn't stay.. normally the bill would be discounted at least. Nope. Paid full price for an unedible burger... this place just isn't what it used to be.. used... More

I went here on lunch while I was at training. The staff is so friendly and extremely helpful. We decided to go back that night for a few beers which they have several quantities of. Definitely I will go back when I'm back in Jeff city for business.

Food was good with a good atmosphere. Have TV for games and stuff but have removed the pool table and other games which limit longer term activates that you might stay for or need to go somewhere else to do.

After reading reviews in TripAdvisor I decided to give it a try. It was an enjoyable experience that there will be a return visit on my next trip too the area. The wood-fired pizza was out of the world. Highly Reccomended

After touring the Missouri State Penitentiary, we needed a place for lunch before leaving town. We decided what would be better after a pen tour than the Prison Brews pub. Well we were not disappointed. The building looks very plain on the outside, but once you walk through the doors there was so much character ... unbelievable. We were so... More

Our son and daughter in law from Cincinnati visited with us. They commended that Prison Brews is just as nice as many of the craft breweries in Cincinnati. Enjoyed the beer sampler and food.

First time visiting and we were pretty impressed with this location. The decor is all prison related from the entrance to the booths, pretty cool considering the history. The beer selection was pretty good and we tried a couple of the local brews and were not disappointed. The food was good as well, we tried several items and everyone enjoyed... More

My husband and I enjoyed our first visit to Prison Brews. Sweet Potato fries are one of my favorite side dishes/appetizers and the order of SP fries served here were top rate! Crisp, lightly dusted with cinnamon and sugar equals delicious! They came with a chipotle ketchup sauce which I did not like, but our server very kindly answered my... More

Prison Brews was opened in 2007 in a part of town that once housed the state penitentiary and is now experiencing residential / commercial re-growth. This has become a popular brewery with wood-fired pizzas, sandwiches, etc. It has completely embraced the "prison" kitsch feel with bars between the bar & dining area and pictures of the 1800's penitentiary historical artifact lining the walls. The menu items and beers on tap are also incorporated into the theme. There is a large dining area as well as large outdoor seating on the adjacent patio complete with bocce ball. A unique experience in a growing area of town.
