While searching for a house in Provence Le Vassol was recommended to us by our real estate agent who lives in the village. We were seated on the sunny terrace for our first visit and enjoyed a delicious three course lunch basking in the Provencal...sun. We've been back six or seven times since and as the weather cooled we moved inside to one of the two cozy rooms. Each visit has been exceptional, the food, wine and service are first rate. Couple this with reasonable prices with friendly and welcoming staff and it's an absolute must to visit if you're in the area.More

A friend who lives in the village usually travels to meet us for lunch because there hasn't been a restaurant here for several years, and that was merely a basic bar. Having read the reviews I was keen to try the new Le Vassol. The...interior is tastefully laid out and there's an open fire for the colder months. Outside there's a lovely little courtyard with a simple fountain and the walls are hung with plants. Shade is provided by parasols and there were some gaps where the sun crept in. The lunchtime 3 course menu doesn't provide any choice and the alternatives were also restricted. At 16.50€ we would recommend the fixed menu. Today's offering was a starter of humous with chorizo and salad, roasted pork with an orzo risotto (nicely seasoned and much lighter than rice) dressed with a mix of vegetables, and tiramisu. Everything was freshly cooked and delicious. The service was efficient and welcoming. We recommend it and would return any time.More

The ancient myth of finding a cheap, high quality, fresh ingredient meal with local produce in France hangs on with this little gem. Found at the end of a tiring bike ride we had 16.50 euro 3 course lunch with interesting ingredients. Not presented on...square plates or with any smeared sauce decoratively placed. Herring salad, volaille with potato and a fresh plum desert. Absolutely fantastic.More

This small converted bar is utterly surprising ...limited seasonal menu which is changed often. Creative and excellent cuisine. Always a choice of meat or fish main dish with delicious starters and yummy desserts. Excellent value for money.

Each plate of food was explained but we were left to enjoy out meal It was superb value for money. Three course fine dining meal for €29More

Our friends own a house 5 miles away and we had been told about the young couple who now run this restaurant. It was sadly too windy to eat in the lovely courtyard so we were all inside but the food was excellent imaginative beautifully...presented and unusual. We will definitely return on our next visit.More

Really a very good experience, nice place in a typical village, and the food is just great, very fresh and refined. Good service too. Price is very reasonable especially for the quality you get. 30€ for 3 courses. Nice choice of local wines too. Compliments...to the chef!More

Called here for lunch after long walk and without making reservation. We chose the formule--3 course meal for 14.50 euros. First course Quiche and salad, main course filet mignon of pork which was delicious and dessert was chocolate mousse with pistachio cake. The service was...excellent and most of patrons were locals at this time of year. In summer I would well advise making a reservation. Look forward to coming back with friends.More

From our arrival to our departure we received nothing but excellent service and great food. I believe the restaurant has recently changed hands and we can only wish the new owners well. The young lady who waited on us was delightful and so helpful. We...sat on the terrace at the back and from our table could watch the chef at work. He appeared to be working alone so it is extra amazing to note the quality of food he was producing. A small menu, but each bite was appreciated. At 29 euros for three courses and approx. 4 euros for a glass of wine we thought this great value. Just the kind of restaurant we love and were so lucky to find by chance in this small village a few miles from our holiday rental. Some parking available close by.More
