Stone Hill is the most popular winery in Herman, so there are always tons of people waiting to visit the restaurant there. Be prepared to put your name on the list and wait. They had limitations on their wines they serve by the glass and a very limited beer selection. The food was fine, but nothing close to authentic, and... More

Ambiance and food very good. Same for the wine. Our booth was in a horse stall in the old carriage house. We really enjoyed the Bavarian Pretzel Sticks. And the French Onion soup was really good--a little surprising for a German restaurant. We also really enjoyed the Pork Schnitzel and the Chicken Schnitzel. We were just too full to try... More

Stopped at the winery next door for a tour and tasting...enjoyable. Went next door for lunch...what a flop! I gotta preface this review by saying our experience may have been a fluke because we had heard so many good recommendations. However, with zero apologies from the staff, I need to mention this. The problem, waiting an hour for the food... More

We were looking for a German Gashouse lunch experience. This was very close in esthetics and food; a winery on top of the hill with the dinning area in the old stable. FOOD: a very nice menu selection of German options. SERVICE: A friendly wait staff that worked well together. ATMOSPHER: A rustic old horse stable, sitting on top of... More

The Vintage restaurant is located is the original stable and carriage house at Stone Hill Winery. The food and service was excellent. We were seated in the stable area in one of the stalls that still had a feed trough. If not original they really make it look real. see photo.

We were celebrating our 23rd anniversary. Granted it was a Sunday night but we had 6:45 reservation. The restaurant closes at 8pm. We arrived and this is the first time we ever had "German" food. We were looking forward to taste a new experience. The problem was we could tell they wanted us out of the restaurant quickly. We ordered... More

My husband and I visited Vintage Restaurant on the Saturday evening of Labor Day weekend. We arrived after wine tastings ended at the winery so headed to the bar in the restaurant before our reservation. We were able to get a drink quickly while we waited for our table. The hostess and bartender were friendly. Dinner was okay - food... More

I ate here with a party of 4 guests and we all enjoyed a great dinner. Our server described the daily special which sounded so good, I had to try it. It was exactly as described and was more than enough food for a single diner. However, it was so good that none remained at the end of the meal.... More

We had an outstanding dinner. The soup of the day - sausage soup with potatoes, beer, cheese and pretzel croutons was absolutely amazing. The soup base was silky and divine. My friend got the red wine flight and settled on the delicious Hermannsburger wine for us to take back to the B&B. The wurst plate with sauerkraut and mustards was... More
