My husband took me for a ride and we ended up in Hermann Missouri. This place is amazing!! We walked in and I said this smells like my grandpa's. He had a farm and did his own meat. He was all German. I tasted the...bacon and was this takes me back to my Grandpa's sitting at the table loving each bit. I thanked my husband for taking us on a ride to Hermann and stopping here as it brought back precious memories of my Grandpa. Come out and enjoy. You feel at home when u walk in. So many memories were shared during our visit I feel like my husband learned a lot about my Grandpa!! Come and enjoy.More

Whoever said this was authentic German food has never been to Germany. The brat was practically tasteless. The beef brisket was very dry. The pretzel bread was so freaking tough! The red cabbage was the highlight and should have had about half the sugar.

We stopped in here for a Sunday morning breakfast. Conveniently located close to the train station. But $36!!!! For 2 breakfast buffet with drink. The 'buffet' was equivalent or less than a free hot hotel breakfast. And was dished out to you by employees. Food...was blah, bacon was ok. Options were Biscuts and gravy, cheese hashbrowns, bacon, some sort of sausage, and eggs. Staff was friendly. Definitely not worth it!More

Fun to look at the food and shop. I had the best in show bratwurst with German potato salad. The brat and sauerkraut were good. The salads were good, but were heavy on the dressing/sauce. The cucumber and onions are a must have. Highly recommend...getting the gin and tonic on tap- bestI have ever had.More

I really enjoyed visiting this establishment. We arrived later in the afternoon, after the lunch rush, so we were able to look around without the crowd. The staff was super friendly and quite helpful. I do wish they would've mentioned they had draft at the...bar when we asked about the beer, because honestly we didn't even notice they had a separate place for drinks. We ordered a bacon cheddar potato brat and caramelized pear & gorgonzola brat, and both were delicious. The sides are extra, but worth it! We received a hefty portion (deviled egg potato salad & cucumber onion salad). One could probably make a small meal off of the sides alone. The prices are mid range for what you receive, and honestly not bad for a high tourist area. The shop is charming and stock full of wonderful treats & fresh foods. Seating is available inside and out. We'll definitely visit again. Recommended.More

Went for the breakfast buffet. The bacon was delicious the rest was just ok. The buffet is served to you by an attendant in the back of the store & offered bacon, French toast sticks, biscuits & gravy, ham, scrambled eggs & cheesy potatoes on...a styrofoam plate with a beverage choice. Affordable just was hoping for higher quality items to go with the amazing bacon.More

This review is for the bacon making class that is offered through Wurst Haus. I'll start with the Pros: The proprietor is affable & easy going, the venue is spacious, the food is appetizing with many samples & and a meal, and the class makes...a really fun date night or family event. Plus, it's good to think about where your food comes from and how it's made. Now for the Cons: This was less a class and more a fun, quirky thing to do on a Friday night. You get a meal and an interesting activity. The owner spent the bulk of the time either good naturedly bragging about his accomplishments or giving us a verbal commercial for his other products and classes. No harm, no foul, but there was very little instruction either verbally, or in the packet of papers that was provided. Very little discussion of method, ingredients, tips, tricks, troubleshooting, or anything that goes into what I consider a formal class. Most of the "meat" (if you'll pardon the pun) of his instruction was rushed through and given in an offhand manner as if we already knew what he was talking about. It was, however, fascinating to watch him butcher - he's very, very talented with a knife! Again, this made a fun date night but we were hoping for actual instruction, even if it was brief (given that this was a one evening class). I had intended to attend his entire series of classes but I think it will be more instructive to look on YouTube or find another teacher. One other thing should be noted for those considering these classes in potential inclement weather. We were supposed to attend this class last year; we rented a room because we live such a distance away, arranged for babysitting, and made the drive. There was a snow storm but the morning of the class the roads had cleared, so we were surprised when we got an email canceling the class for that night. We expressed dismay and confusion but were simply told, without much apology, that the class wasn't happening. When we asked for a refund we were told no. It does say on the registration page that refunds for cancellations are not given. However, when you, the purveyor, cancel the class and then refuse to offer a refund, that's just poor customer service. The owner said he's never felt the need to provide refunds because his business is so popular. That was an interesting response, to be sure, but to be fair and measured in our review, we did reschedule the class for this year and tried to keep an open mind. In short, I would give this experience 2.5 to 3 stars. It was cute and fun but they really inconvenienced and disappointed us last year and made a very poor impression of their customer service. If you're in Hermann, stop by and enjoy the bacon and the ambience. If you'd like some actual instruction, perhaps try some other resource before you spend your money here. And don't bother to schedule a class when there's even a remote possibility of bad weather.More

Save yourself the anguish and try the concert hall & Barrel just down the street on the same side way better food not even comparable like the difference between McDonald's and Red Lobster
