My ONLY complaint is that there is no option to get small samplings of several sides. They have so many options! And the sides are priced at $4.99 each. The portion they give you is quite large for a side serving, and I really just wanted to try all of the sides. Considering the portion size and all sides are priced the same, they might as well throw together a sampler side that is the same size but you get a small spoonful of every side. Maybe I'm crazy and I'm the only person who needs this in their life, but that would have made my meal perfect.
OTHERWISE! I had the turkey and swiss which was divine. Their pretzel buns taste fresh but I don't know where they actually came from. Possibly Wurst Haus's own? Or a local bakery? It was utterly delicious, that's what I know. I got the deviled egg potato salad as my side, which was really good but I had a weird time with the texture (for whatever reason the egg threw me off, but I can't say why). My wife got a brat (I'll have to edit this later to tell you which one) topped with sauerkraut and mustard, also on a pretzel bun. She said it was delicious. She also loved the smoked gouda pasta salad (it was too much cheese for my tastes, but it did have a good flavor).

We were going to enjoy Saturday breakfast here, but our hotel had a nice hot breakfast included so we stopped to buy brats and bacon before heading home after a long weekend. Great selection of items with many different flavor combinations. They also have other local products.
The all you can eat breakfast smelled amazing.

We didn't eat at the restaurant, but the store portion of the facility is wonderful. There's complimentary tastings of the various sausages, including the bison! The Jamaican jerk cheese curds are also very good. It's a good place to obtain items to take home or maybe for a romantic picnic.

We would not return to this establishment. The food was less than average. I lived in Germany and the lunch we ate at Wurst Haus was very disappointing. We both had the Best of Show Brat Sandwich. The sandwiches and the sides were underwhelming. All was tasteless and bland. To add insult to injury our wait person at the register was rude and condescending. Such a shame becausen our experience could have been so much better with a little effort on their behalf. We will not be going back.

This restaurant was suggested to us by a local person. They said the sandwiches were great. We ordered one brat sandwich to split between the 2 of us, one side which we also split (no sides come with the sandwich) and 2 glasses of water. Over $23. I almost fell on the floor. No glasses of water-only bottles you have to purchase for $2.50 each. The brat was good. The pretzel bun was not soft at all and detracted from the brat. The weirdest thing was that the sauerkraut tasted like it was just in water. No vinegar taste to it whatsoever. Their mustard was good. The potato salad was good. BUT it was not worth $23. That is crazy. The lady who checked us out was not friendly at all. The restaurant and restrooms were clean. I would never go back and would not recommend it.

Thank you for your review.
We are not a Restaurant, we are a German deli, there is a difference. We do not and never will sell open containers of water or soda ever again. That is for your safety. The pretzel bun is served as it is in Germany. The sauerkraut has vinegar and salt in the recipe. Our prices are lower than most all German food in Hermann, MO as I have lived here for 60 years. There was a brat stand behind our deli that was charging $11.99 for a brat sandwich, another across the street was also charging $11.99. Our sides are large and sharable, as our menu states. The lady taking your order is friendly and direct because she needs to efficiently serve 1500 guests on an October Saturday. As of Oct. 1, 2022, Hermann's tax rate increased to 9.475, almost 10%! This is mandated by the county, state and federal entities.
We lock the door at 4 pm on Saturday year-round. We are open 7 days a week year-round, start work at 4 am year-round and stop serving food at 3:15 pm year-round. We have all of this posted online and in-store year-round. We have greeters at the front door year-round. Folks have the menu in their hands as the menu board is in the first 10 feet of the front door year-round. Prices are listed on the menu and online year-round. We must be quick and very, very, efficient to serve our 1500 Saturday guests. We go above and beyond to give our guests the information they need to order quickly. My staff is not rude, they are quick and efficient, just as I have taught them. Please do not disparage their work ethic with unkind words or actions. If anyone wants to do their job better, we are hiring. Shifts start at 5 am and you’re done when you’re done. Our food is authentic as the 29 awards from the competition in Frankfurt, Germany indicate. They are the huge red framed awards hanging on the walls. 23 of the 29 awards were perfect scores as judged by trained German judges. A pretty good indication of real German! Our menus clearly state that in-store and online everything is sold separately. Our a la carte menu allows you to order exactly what you want. You have the right to your opinions but don’t disparage my business or hard-working, efficient, loyal, staff!
Sincerely,
Wurstmeister Mike, owner

I recently wrote a review and since have had another interaction with this company. On June 7, 2022, I sent a letter directly to the owner asking for my money back since they did not deliver what I paid for. I paid to receive an order timely, as they promise on their website. I did not get my order timely because they didn't send it. I got a couple of excuses, a worker had her kid at work with her, some wurst I ordered wasn't available (which they told me timely via email and I selected something that was available). Since the order was taking so long, I asked for all of my money back BEFORE they shipped the order. Penny, an employee, put in writing in a messenger message that she would have them process a refund BEFORE the order shipped. They didn't do that. They refunded the $29 for shipping and sent the order anyway. Horrible, horrible customer service. I'm a mail order customer and can't just walk in to that business to get my money back. That's $100.00 they kept even though I asked to cancel my order BEFORE it shipped weeks late. I was so disappointed. Now I'm mad I was stupid enough to trust that this place was reputable and cares about their customers. Be careful if you order online from this place. I will never do it again. Oh, and the owner, never bothered to respond to my letter.

We were looking for a good Saturday breakfast spot for four adults and saw good reviews for the breakfast buffet, so decided to eat there. Not a good choice. After paying almost $18 pp, we expected a nice buffet. Instead, we were given paper plates and plastic utensils and our choices of bacon (the high spot of the meal), tasteless French toast sticks, mediocre biscuits, sausage gravy, scrambled eggs with an unpleasant unidentified ingredient, shredded potatoes in a chicken-broth tasting mixture, and sausage. The raved-about peach bread pudding was half-frozen, dry, and tasteles. None of us ate more than a bite, even after walking it to the storefront to be heated. Do some places rely on positive reviews from days past? Yes, and this restaurant is one of them. Save your money and eat elsewhere. This place is not deserving.

My friend and I decided to take a day trip over to Hermann, MO to have a nice lunch and do a little shopping. We have eaten at the Wurst Haus before and it was a great experience. Yesterdays visit was a total disappointment. We ordered our lunch at the counter and asked for coffee for our beverage. The woman working the counter was going to pour us the bottom of the pot that had been sitting there since early morning. I asked if she would make a fresh pot and her answer was just "NO." Our lunch arrived and the meal looked and tasted like it had been cooked days ahead. I had the brisket sandwich which the meat you could have broken a tooth on if not careful and my friend ordered a bratwurst that was tough and dry. To say the least we will not be back and if you are reading this review, stay clear!

Went for the breakfast buffet. The bacon was delicious the rest was just ok. The buffet is served to you by an attendant in the back of the store & offered bacon, French toast sticks, biscuits & gravy, ham, scrambled eggs & cheesy potatoes on a styrofoam plate with a beverage choice. Affordable just was hoping for higher quality items to go with the amazing bacon.

Whoever said this was authentic German food has never been to Germany. The brat was practically tasteless. The beef brisket was very dry. The pretzel bread was so freaking tough! The red cabbage was the highlight and should have had about half the sugar.

Food was average, nothing exceptional. The lady who checked us out was so rude. They quit serving at 3:30 on a Saturday, so if you choose to go there be mindful of the time. The Swiss meats a few miles away very friendly and brats just as good.

Michele,
Our food has been judged by trained professional German judges in Frankfurt, Germany as being Gold medal quality. 23 of the 29 awards they bestowed upon my company were Gold medals which you only get with a perfect score in Frankfurt, Germany. They are the huge red framed awards hanging on the walls. My sales lady at the counter is professional and very efficient so she can serve our 1500 customers. Our guests are met and greeted at the door by myself, Mike the owner, Eddie, or Sharon, and told that we stop serving food at 3:15 pm and we lock the door at 4 pm on Saturday year-round. My staff is not rude, they are quick and efficient, just as I have taught them. Please do not disparage their work ethic with unkind words or actions. If anyone wants to do their job better, we are hiring. Shifts start at 5 am and you’re done when you’re done. We quit serving at 3:15 pm every Saturday year-round as we start at 5 am, 7 days a week. This is listed in print at the store and online. Also, thank you for mentioning Swiss Meats, since I’m an owner, and shareholder there also. Though, it is 30 miles round trip from Hermann, MO.
Sincerely,
Wurstmeister Mike, Owner

None of the staff were wearing masks nor were 90% of the customers. We went for the Sunday brunch and were highly disappointed. You do get a free drink (non-alcoholic) but the food isn't worth the price. There were waffles, cold scrambled eggs, gravy (with meat), hashbrowns (with meat) bacon, sausages and biscuits. The spoons were shared for the jelly/jam, and there was plastic silverware (not covered). We asked about the dessert, but they were out. (We went an hour and a half before the food was stopped) Order food from the cashier and skip the over priced breakfast. There are plenty of meat items to take with you. Outdoor/indoor seating and pleasant workers.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry you weren't happy with our breakfast. Gasconade County does not have a mask mandate. If our staff or customers want to wear masks they can. This was a Hermann Wine Trail weekend and we served 120 more people than expected. Spoons are not shared. Our meats are made on-site, which are locally farm-raised. We receive many great reviews for our All You Can Eat Wurst Breakfast.

We were searching for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon here in March. We picked the Hermann Wurst Haus in town facing main street/Hwy 100 in Hermann, since they say they have the "Best Wurst in Town". We had been here several years ago and remembered it positively.
Upon entry, we were approached/accosted by an owner/manager, who asked whether we were there to eat or shop. Answering him "eat", he repeated a litany of words to us that he also shared with all subsequent entrants about their food choices. We felt he meant well but was not appreciated by us, since we can read and their extensive menu was displayed up on the massive wall behind the food counter and that day's specials could be displayed at the entrance next to the paper menus.
I picked the Reuben sandwich for $5.99 with a side of German style potato salad for $4.99 (high?) and she selected the wurst sausage sandwich for $5.99. We each had a bottle of unique brand root beer costing $1.70 each. With 3 different taxes it all cost $22.09. Not too bad.
I guess in conclusion we'd say its "wurst" a visit.

Hi Jim,
Thank you for your review. We are so sorry you felt accosted. We will continue to meet and greet potential customers within 11 seconds of them entering our Wurst Haus.
Wurstmeister Mike's meet and greet will stay the same: Good morning folks, shopping or eating? If eating he tells visitors the specials as they are not listed anywhere, not even on a big wall. Daily specials are not listed anywhere ever by design so human interaction from a minimum of 6 feet is practiced and will continue to be so for our continued success.
Cheers,

We actually ate here twice. We had dinner here our first night and breakfast the next morning. Dinner was a shared ribeye steak sandwich and a pork steak; both were excellent and so dang tender! The breakfast was a buffet style, all you can eat that was reasonably priced and a great place to fill your belly before heading out for a day of wine tasting! It's a marathon folks, not a sprint, lol! The people who worked here were very helpful and when we asked for info regarding the trolleys, bam...the owner of the trolley's was there to give us all of that information.Locals and tourist's eat here. Great place and we would definitely go back!
