I can't say enough good things about this place! I think they run it great, the food is always hot and the servers are on top of their game. The buffet is always hot and fresh for lunch. The Pepsi is never flat, the refills...keep coming. Manny is the best server!! He will take great care of you. We have tried the other Mexican restaurants in the area, including Illinois, and this one is still the best.More

A Mexican restaurant with a buffet is not the most common thing. And then to have a good sampling of different things, other than tacos is probably even a more rare concept. But, Mi Mexico Cafe does this pretty well. There's smaller items that taste...good, but not exceptional. However, there's one dish (that they call a paella, but not a complicated one with bay scallops and tiny shrimp) that tastes really good. And of course, there's strawberry and cookies and cream ice cream to end the night with a bit of sweet. Overall, it was a good variety--something for everyone to enjoy. And, if someone wants completely fresh, he/she can always order off the menu.More

This is a wonderful little Mexican restaurant. I had the enchiladas suizas and my wife had the enchiladas. She is diabetic so they accommodated her by leaving the beans a tortillas off. The enchiladas suizas was great and the tomatillo sauce was out of this...world.More

We saw a post saying they had a buffet so decided to give it a try. The service was quick and friendly. Which seems to be getting harder to find. Food was average, warm and fresh. There isn't a lot of variety and was poorly...labeled but that isn't anything new with buffets. All and all we will probably return.More

The location is easy to access inside a shopping center. The atmosphere is nice and the staff is very friendly. The chips and salsa are the best in town. Lunch prices are reasonable and probably cheaper than a regular meal at a fast food restaurant.

Couldn't believe the quality and portions of the food you get for such good prices! Get the pollo loco! Food was Amazing, All-You-Can-Eat chips and salsa, great authentic legal Mexican workers, and best of all, Ice Cream! The place was a bit run down, like...some paint peeling, but I would have never of guessed it would be so good! It's located by subway in a strip mall that includes dollar tree and wal-mart.More

My husband and I eat here quite often. We always get excellent service. I am a creature of habit and they pretty well have it memorized just what I want. I love Gran Rio as well but MI Mexico feels more cozy and friendly to...me :-)More

I was out running errands and decided to stop here and get a take out order. I had not been here since they first opened up and was not too impressed then, but thought since they had been open for a few years things would...have improved. NO! The staff was very disorganized running around like chickens with their heads cut off trying to seat people, wait on people, serve people, clean tables and run the register all at the same time. I ordered a cheese quesadilla, chicken soft taco, chicken enchilada and I wanted a banana chimichanga for my desert, however I was informed they were out of those as well as cheesecake. I will add here that they were out of these the last time I was here and after talking with several people this afternoon have found they are always out of these two items, which causes me to ask if you are not going to have something available why have it on your menu???? I ended up ordering a sopapilla. The gentleman who took my order at the register rang me up right then, told me to have a seat and it would be about 5-7 minutes. I think it was longer than that, but not by much. The waitress brought my order up and told me my total. I said that the gentleman who took my order had rang me up and I had already paid. She started saying things in Spanish and I think she was calling me a liar and she kept her hand on my order as she was doing so. I pointed to the man who had waited on me as he was cleaning a nearby table and told her she could ask him. She started saying something in Spanish to him and he replied yes and smiled politely at me. I think he was embarrassed and upset by her behavior. She nodded in acknowledgement and handed me the bag with my order. I decided after that not to return to this restaurant. When I got home I was even more displeased with the experience as they had just thrown the containers in the sack and the sauce from my enchilada had spilled out all over everything and the tortilla the enchilada was wrapped in was basically in little pieces. That pretty much settled it right there that I would not be returning to that restaurant. The other items were decent, but not great. I would not recommend this Mexican restaurant at all. Gabriella's which is down the hill in the Huck Finn Shopping Center is 100% better and if you are in the mood to drive across the river to Quincy, Illinois I would recommend Mi Jalapeno or El Rancherito, both of these Mexican restaurants are also 100% better and Mi Jalapeno has a patio for outdoor dining if you would like to eat outdoors. I have reviewed Mi Jalapeno on this site and I think perhaps El Rancherito as well so please take a look my reviews for those. Anyway, I would say this is one restaurant worth skipping when dining in HannibalMore

It was all fine as average Mexican Restaurants go. The waitress was very helpful. The menu had nothing new.
