This place kind of reminds you of the old west. All the tables and chairs are antique. There are also lots of antiques on display. Very friendly staff and great service. The food is excellent! Two thumbs up.

We were on a roadtrip and stopped in at Hannibal. A local business recommended this locale. When first walking in, the smell of the food was mouth watering! Its getting the food that is the catch.. Service was poor. A group of six walked out as we sat down. Several tables were empty but not bused. It appeared they were... More

My husband & I visited Hannibal during our vacation. We asked for dining recommendations at the visitors center. We went to the Ole Planters for lunch, hoping for a piece of homemade pie. We both got the catfish special. The best thing about the meal was the green beans which had a delicious vinegar flavor. The fish was flat and... More

We stopped in Hannibal for lunch while traveling through and decided to give Ole Planters Restaurant a try. The building is in the historic area right next to the levee, although the restaurant windows face the main street, not the river. It was meatloaf Monday, and while I'm not a big meatloaf sandwich person, I decided to give it a... More

My daughter and I always have get together lunches here. She always gets the tenderloin. Which is huge! I like the dinner plates. Depends on the day which one. You get awesome veggies, potatoes and the main dish. It's a quiet quaint atmosphere with super polite staff. Our waitress Tara is simply fabulous! She always has a smile! Prices are... More

I stopped there for lunch Saturday while enjoying the Corvette show, along with my mother & daughter. Instantly greeted with smiles, asked what we wanted to drink by the friendly pretty blonde waitress, she brought our drinks back & then we ordered the pork tenderloin sandwich (it's huge & delicious! Make sure you ask for cheese & use the homemade... More

My wife and I had supper there. Interesting and quaint furnishings in typical early American motif. Waitress was very friendly and helpful. Food was okay, though what we had was not particularly noteworthy.

We decided to weekend in Hannibal and this is where we decided to have lunch. I have to say it wasn't awesome, while it wasn't bad it just lacked pizzazz. The soda was overpriced and in a can, the chicken strips were frozen, and it just lacked. The burger my boyfriend had you can tell it was handmade and while... More

We asked a local for where they would go for dinner and they suggested Ole Planters. We could not have been happier. The restaurant had been there for years and its decor suggested this in a charming way. The dinners were a mix of locals and visitors. The dinning was homestyle and yummy. The meats were cooked to yummy perfection just like mom would do. As we were eatting the cook was bringing out freshly made pies which tasted as good as they smelled. One of the customers wanted to buy the entire pie it was so good. We loved Hannibal and this was the perfect restaurant to top off a day of traveling back in time and enjoying Main Street USA and the Mississippi as Tom Sawyer and his friends might have.
