This location has had way too many restaurants fail in its location, but after eating there this past Friday night, I hope they make it. Lets start out with the positive. Its is unique blend of causal dining and fast food look. Great colors, mood and warm interior space. The wait staff is very new, young and getting trained. That was the only reason I do not rate the excellent.
The food was a very nice surprise. If you like American Mexican food, like Taco Bell or other quick Americanized Mexican restaurants, then skip this establishment. This is like taking a day trip to Mexico City and getting real authentic street flavors. The menu has all the usual's and they are all good, but the best part of the menu is the non traditional items.
We had the Guacamole was fresh, bright and full of natural flavors, The Queso Fundido was outstanding as it had chunks of Chorizo, bits of roasted peppers and served in a hot cast iron skillet.
The Molcajete is served in a very hot mortal vessel and has all the ingredients found in a real Mexico City dish including grilled cactus, carne, chorizo and melted cheese. The tortillas they serve are served very hot and very fresh.
Drinks were poured very well and the Bartender/Co-owner was friendly, helpful and knows his restaurant business.
I highly recommend !

This place was recommended to us by a coworker of my husband. There were three of us that showed up early evening on a Friday (6:30 pm). This place was very busy, but we were lucky enough to snag a table. I noticed people that came in after us had to wait, but usually not for long (5 minutes of so). We did wait longer than usual for wait staff to show up to offer us water/take drink orders. It appeared that maybe they were short staffed a bit (as most places seem to be these days). Our waitress was nice and did try to answer the few questions we had. We ended up with Enchaladas Rojas, Quesabirria Tacos, and Alambre for our main meals, guacamole, and two different kinds of margaritas. Chips and salsa were of course provided. The good: Both margaritas (regular and mango) get high marks, the green salsa that was provided (tomatillo probably) was also very good. Presentation/plating/portion size of all main meals were good. The Average: All of us felt while our meals were decent, there was nothing particularly outstanding about them. It was just - eh this is ok. Additionally, The guacamole needs some work. Normally, I have to tell myself - stop eating, take home leftovers, but that was not an issue here. I just wasn't enjoying the food like I had hoped. The bad: There is really nothing bad about this place, it just ended up not being our cup of tea. Other things to note: I enjoyed some of the pictures on the walls and the women's bathroom was sparkling clean. Since this place appears pretty popular, at least when we were there, it was pretty noisy - you are not going to have an intimate conversation here when it's crowded. The waitress was easily able to divide our bill up easily when we asked.

My husband and I have been waiting for Tradicional 314 to open for some time now. It feels like the "coming soon" banner was up for a handful of months.
Today we had an opportunity to meet for a weekday lunch and thought we would give it a try. The restaurant itself had been a fast casual restaurant in the recent past, but is now a cozy little Mexican place with a nice bar near the door. There are tables, booths, and even a few private booths along the back wall. Fortunately tables are not too close together either. Erica, our waitress, also dropped off a basket of chips and salsa (no charge!) right when we were seated so as a new restaurant they were on a roll in our book...
The menu covered all of the basics and threw in a few surprises as well. While we did not see fajitas, we decided to split an order of the Alhambre (basically a meat lovers order of fajitas with plenty of multi-colored bell peppers and onions but without the sizzle). It was delivered piping hot and covered with melting cotija cheese. YUM!
All in all this was a fast - 40 minutes start to finish - and tasty meal. We were impressed with the menu, the freshness of all ingredients, and with our waitress Erica. We will definitely be back and hope that the restaurant catches on. It seems like it will be a fun "clubhouse" for after work happy hours, too!

Creve Coeur in the past has not offered much in the way of Mexican food. We would have to drive quite a bit to get to a decent Mexican place. On the rare occasion a Mexican restaurant opened, it would not last long. Late in 2021, TWO such restaurants opened off of Olive Road. One was much ballyhooed and so-so. The other, Tradicional 314, opened to much less acclaim. However, Tradicional is the REAL DEAL! They serve "real" Mexican food, which is not that easy to find in St Louis County. I have had at least 5 meals here. So far, my favorite entree is the Enchiladas Rojas, though the Fajitas are very good. The only somewhat negative item would be the California burrito (don't eat a burrito with French fries inside it!). My wife loves their veggie items. We have had 4 of their desserts. I would rate the Mango pie, Churros, and Blueberry Hibiscus flan as 5 stars, 3-4 for the Tres Leches for me. Decor of the restaurant is very nice, with appropriate imagery for a Mexican restaurant. Service is very good. Prices are reasonable. Highly recommend you try it!

Wonderful varied menu. Red Snapper is a super plus especially for bone pickers. Whole deep fried wonderful. Red and green table sauces are very authentico for US.

We have had lunch here a few times and ordered dinner for take out. It was all so good! Good atmosphere, quick service, good food. Not your typical Mexican restaurant, much more authentic food and flavors. The house margarita is also tasty, no need to upgrade!

We went there for lunch and was pleasantly surprised how good it was. It wasn't busy but the service was good and the food had very good flavor. The chips are a little thicker and not as crispy as I like but overall it was very good.
