I was visiting columbia for a friend and he took me to the place to try some local food. I faced a very very cold service ( which was the slowest on earth). I saw that the food was very normal and wouldn't consider it local at all.

Great place for classic eggs and bacon and pancakes breakfast. I was there on a college move-in day, so it was packed and service was a bit slow, but very friendly. Food great...it is what it is.

Stopped for breakfast Sunday morning. The place is quite popular, but outside seating was available. The server was friendly and attentive. Ordered a couple of combos and everything was well-prepared and quickly served. Overall very positive experience.

Recommended by a number of long-term Columbia residents, when we tried Ernies, we were not impressed. Indoors is crowded and dark. The outdoor patio is just crowded. Parking is difficult, and when you finally get seated, the food is just average. Not worth the effort.

My husband and I have created and accepted a challenge to try every restaurant in downtown Columbia at least once. We came across Ernie's Cafe, a quaint "hole in the wall" type restaurant but I already had a good feeling about the place before even stepping foot inside due to how busy they were. All of the outside seating was... More

We stopped at Ernies for a Sunday breakfast. Ate outside- server was a little overwhelmed so she wasn't super friendly. Food was good- omelette and the #8. Hit the spot. Coffee was average.

If you're on a low calorie diet, you'll be limited to fruit... If you love comfort breakfast food, you'll be in heaven. Yeah, it's greasy. Yeah, it tastes good.

We had to go through a lot of traffic to get to the cafe since it was in the downtown area. We parked close to the cafe but had to pay a parking meter. This place is mainly for college students since it is a couple of blocks away from Columbia College. However, we went in and were treated very... More

Ernie's is an treasured haven in Columbia. If you want a hearty breakfast or healthier fare you'll find it here. Known for their omelets and fried potatoes, there's nothing on the menu that isn't yummy. Peak breakfast hours can mean a wait....it's a small diner. But it's worth your wait. Also serves lunch/dinner. Prices are reasonable.

We live in Columbia and visit Ernie's at least once a week. We have been going here for over 20 years. We love the breakfast with made to order omelettes and homemade french toast. When we take vegetarian friends with us, they rave on the vegetarian options as well. Lunch is also a treat with the classic "chopped cow" fresh... More
