Le Santal is not especially easy to get to, as you need to wend your way through the narrow and cluttered streets of Sandy Ground to get to it. You may think you are not in the right place, but stick with and and you will be rewarded. The valet parking is badly needed, as there really is no street... More

Once you get there its fine. The street is a little sketchy. once inside it is a lovely place.the people and service are lovely. I think its a family run business. order app salad and dinner as this is a french restaurant the the portions are small. My dinner of scallops and shrimp was delicious but small. the dessert was good... More

This is our favorite place to eat. Every time we visit this Island we plan to go back again and again. The food and service are impeccable. You have to get the onion soup if for nothing else but the presentation. Always love the chief's surprise. Never a disappointment.

French cuisine served on balconies overlooking the sea. Staff is attentive and the setting is very traditional. The food was superb--including the fresh red snapper, served flaming tableside. The lacquered duck was flavorful and accompanying potatoes made the meal. The wine, coffee, appetizers, and dessert all met the mark. Though set in a less-than-fancy neighborhood, the valet service and interior... More

Wow! The best meal and experience we had during our vacation! The dining room is absolutely stunning, with tables situated in small balconies overlooking an ocean lit up with lights. The service was professional, friendly and displayed everything France is renowned for. And the food- perfection! From appetizers to the souffles for desert, the quality, preparation and presentation were fantastic.... More

After reading the other reviews and then visiting Le Santal myself, I felt as if we were seeing two different places. Upon arriving, expect to ask yourself, "what Concierge would send 3 girls to this neighborhood?" It is located in a sketchy neighborhood to be sure...be prepared! The dog droppings in the grass parking lot should have been a warning,... More

There are so many restaurants on St. Martin/St. Maarten, that bad ones don't last long. This restaurant has been operating for over 40 years and we found out why on our annual trip to the island this year. The food and service were exceptional. The setting although in a more rundown area of the island, is stunning. It is pricey,... More

Le Santal is located in a somewhat dicey neighborhood in Sandy Ground, St Martin. Once you get there, however, the valet parking is very reassuring. The restaurant itself is elegantly appointed in a vision of whiteness. White columns separate nooks set with white table settings, etc, all overlooking a stunning ocean view. The glittering island of Anguilla is 11 miles... More

We know that the problem with the electricity is not a restaurant fault. But if you can't operate without it, the best thing you can do is tell the guest that you are closed. Our food was tasteless, cold, they have half of the menu available, bad service and we had to light our table with our cellphones. The least... More
