The food was below average and the service was terrible, so I recommended to go somewhere else. People were treated like cattle.

We went to Cafe Napoli to celebrate a birthday with family and friends. We had a very nice table for eight. The decor of the restaurant is very nice and relaxed. The food is excellent, but be prepared to spend some cash. All our entries...More

On a business trip, have to stay in the hotel over the week-end. Due to an art fair in town all restaurants full with families. As 'single', extremely difficult to get a seat...The guys in Cafe Napoli understood that i had no chance and spontaneously...More

We walked in on a weekday night because it looked pretty, and they were able to quickly accommodate us on the terrace. Was really lovely w/ the flowers and fairy lights. The food was very, very good and generous portions. We couldn't eat it all,...More

Enjoyed going here as a large group. We were well served and the food was great. Only concern was that so many dishes were made with wine, and when I asked for one to be made without wine, I was told no.

The food was excellent - great veal parmesan and fried raviolis. The service was excellent - Jerome was a wonderful waiter.

Wonderful meal at this restaurant. Had dinner on a Monday evening. Stopped on a walk from our hotel and without reservations, a table outside was quickly set for us. (7:00 pm) The salad was delightful, which the staff split on to two plates before serving...More

We had reserved a table for four people a day in advance, and found ourselves in the bar with two round cocktail tables pushed together. The waiter was great, but it took forever for the food to come out of the kitchen. I think it...More

Excellent Arencini. The Rigatoni Cardinal with the shrimp is incredible. I could eat so much more of that. The penne vodka is also delicious! There's a great sophisticated atmosphere. Beautiful restaurant for a date or just have an upscale family night!

I am not sure what hotel you are staying out to know if they provide any type of shuttle service. If you are staying at a hotel located in the immediate Clayton area you can walk to Cafe Napoli. If you are in a surrounding... More

Description
When Tony Pietoso opened the original Cafe Napoli in the '80s, it quickly became a success. So Successful, in fact, that it moved to a bigger location at 7754 Forsyth Blvd. The restaurant continued to flourish with its generous portions of regional Italian specialties. Cafe Napoli has recently undergone a facelift and has added Bar Napoli next door. The swank cocktail lounge has soft lighting and a separate wine room that can accommodate 30 diners. The kitchen is headed by chef Jeff Davis, who has been with the restaurant for several years. Fortunato Pietoso, Tony's brother, has also returned to the kitchen. Tony makes rounds chatting with customers, many of whom appear to be on a first-name basis with him. The sons Ande and Kye split their time between the Bar and Cafe, as they are being groomed to take over the family business. Cafe Napoli is a must visit when in the St. Louis area. Some guests include Tony Bennett, Gloria Estefen, Joe Torre and Arnold Palmer to name a few.
