During a recent business trip in St. Louis traveling with my family we took a friend's recommendation and tried Pastaria for dinner on a Monday night. The three of us had the fried risotto balls (arancini), shaved Kale salad and pasta. All were superb. The ravioli with pistachio and mint was outstanding and caccio de pepe, while having a bit... Pastaria is what I look forward to the most when visiting family in Saint Louis. It is the most delicious Italian food! I highly recommend both the housemade pasta and the woodfired pizzas. I ate the chitarra al pomodoro, which was fresh and bright and delicious. My husband had the bolognese and was blown away by both the quality of... More

The place even smells authentic. I like the homemade pastas that are not served elsewhere. My wife lives the personal sized pizzas. The service is friendly. The kitchen system is highly organized so that food comes quickly, but never feels like being rushed. This is casual dining where the food is closer to fine Italian dining. The tables are small... Nice variety of dishes on the menu; light, bright atmosphere. Parking is surprisingly easy to locate even though this restaurant is in Clayton. On my first visit I ordered the Pappardelle. Today was my second visit, and I ordered the Amatriciana--and-- just like my first visit, the flavor of the dish was strongly salt-forward. Only the chili flavor came through.... More

We were staying Sunday night before leaving Monday in Clayton and wanted to try something different. Dining options were pretty limited so we were happy to find Pastaria open. The portions were well sized and really good. A little on the expensive side but when my wife had an issue with her entree' they recovered well with another quickly. Good,... More

We took the drive out here based on the reviews and we were not disappointed. We started with the risotto balls based on the waitresses' recommendation. The were incredibly light & not greasy. I also had the watermelon soup which was also light & refreshing after a hot summer day. For my entree I had the Holmes pizza which was... More

The brunch that my wife and I shared was excellent! We got the brunch meat and cheese board and the breakfast risotto. Both were an interesting take on breakfast and had amazing flavor. The wait staff was great as well and made accommodations for my food allergies.

This is a welcome addition to the Clayton restaurant scene. I am not typically a fan of pasta but they do it just right here, perfectly al dente and very tasty. I visited this place with my wife and some old friends based on their recommendations. WE started with the risotto balls, which were okay if not great; you can't... More

We checked in with the front desk and were told 30-45 minutes. So, we took a seat at the bar...not comfy stools, but immediate service. Within 10 minutes we turned around and there were tons of tables. But, alas, we were perched. Also, we were very impressed with the bartender's incredible knowledge of the menu, food prep, etc. Food was... More

Been there several times and I think its one of my favorite spot in STL. Reasonable price for the quality of the food, service and the vibe. I especially love their breakfast pizza. Their italian donuts are great too. I wish they serve them warm!
