The busser did an excellent job of taking care of us. He was the exception to the evening. We have eaten here several times before and made reservations for the patio because we were entertaining good friends . No one bothered to mention the nice...patio, the attractive patio was reserved for a private party. We were taken to a table nicely set for 6, but then we were moved to a wobbly table pushed into the corner of the crummy patio, which is right beside the road, the "oh, we should cram tables here" patio. We would have been almost in sitting in someone's lap if their party hadn't pulled their tables closer to the road. Yes, someone kept apologizing, but outside of putting something under the wobbly leg of the table, nothing else was done. We were told we could sit inside, but it was very loud, and we wanted to eat outside. The table was so small it couldn't hold the water and wine glasses, menus, appetizer plates, and wine chiller, and we had to juggle items on the table. It was not a 4-top. Have some class and call it a table for 2. The new hostess should NOT be blamed. Whoever takes reservations needs to have some more training. We were given menus and David immediately popped up and asked for our drink and appetizer orders. Obviously we hadn't even touched our menus. We pointed that out and asked him to come back, which he did 2 or 3 more times. We felt rushed and finally ordered a bottle of wine and an app. Our dinners were NOT good. Our guests didn't complain about their entrees out of politeness, but my berry salad was drowned in oversweet dressing, and the Trapenese pasta was drowned in some tasteless broth. My husband's seafood special had a few lame pieces of seafood and way too much, over salted risotto. He didn't finish it, and I think a salad or something was taken off our bill. When they brought our entrees David said he would bring parmesan. I sat for 5 minutes while my food chilled waiting, and then my husband got up and went inside to get some parmesan and some salt. I used almost two of the pathetic dishes of the parmesan and still had a tasteless dish. I finished it because I was hungry. There was no trace of olive oil, balsamic glaze, and garlic, but there were 5 or 6 mashed "vine ripened cherry tomatoes" floating around and lots of pasta. It was a bad dinner from start to finish. David obviously wanted to turn the table one more time after we left. The kitchen was obviously overwhelmed by the private party. We won't be back. There are too many good restaurants to patronize. Please give our compliments to the busser.More

This was a great choice for a quick lunch. The room is divided into two sections that helps make the space more pleasant and enjoyable. Good selection of wine. But, the highlight was the pizza. There's a variety of toppings with only a slight difference...in price. The wait staff was attentive and the pizza arrived to our table quickly--perfect for lunch.More

Had lunch here with friend. The restaurant is clean an bright. Service was good as were the prices. Had the lunch special Fresh berry salad and meat ball with spaghetti . The salad and meat ball were wonderfully good. However, the appetizer bruschetta was not...good. It was chopped tomatoes on toast. Not what I think of when ordering bruschetta.More

The atmosphere was VERY LOUD. The food was luke warm. Whiskey shrimp was overcooked....chewy. I took my adult kids for a birthday. Wine was good, hence the 3 stars. All food was NOT hot. Salad was over dressed. Chicken spedini was not award-winning...Needed salt on...dishes. For the price it was NOT worth it. Service was just OK. We will not be back.More

We enjoyed a delicious outdoor meal during happy hour, filled with happy hour priced appetizers and drinks. Each one was simply delicious, with and equally top notch staff. This was the only time I'd dined here, but would welcome the opportunity to enjoy it again...in the future!More

Great Happy Hour! Fantastic Bloody Mary drink. Pizza is good, as well as the meatballs and arancini. Bar manager was nice.

Got seated right away and ordered appetizers and dinner. Our waitress was fine and got the food to us quickly and then disappeared . Water glasses were not filled and she never came back to clear dirty appetizer plates. It was rather strange actually. The...food was excellent; well presented and my friend and I enjoyed our evening but the disappearing waitress was quite a mystery.More

My mother and I went here today for brunch. There was probably 5 tables of guests in the whole restaurant. It took 30 minutes to get our drinks. It took about 45 minutes after being seated for our order to be taken. No apology or...explanation from the server on why everything was taken so long. Great food and drinks, but because of the extremely slow service I would not be back. I could understand slower service if it was busy, but it wasn't at all.More

We went for dinner on Valentines Day. The food was excellent. But the restaurant had clearly gone out of its way to create a romantic atmosphere. They must have re-arranged their tables. As a result, no one knew who was supposed to wait on us....For 20 minutes we sat trying to get someone to notice us (they had two hostesses, so I am not sure why one of them did not notice that we had no water, bread or anything...) No one would even make eye contact. Finally, after getting hungry and thirsty, we went up to get help. Eventually, we had a wonderful waiter and the food was great. They were very apologetic (and provided a wonderful dessert.) We were having a great time with friends so we were not disappointed with the wait time - but it was frustrating seeing others being served that sat down after us and no one seming to to notice. It takes a team and it did not feel like the staff operated as a team. Again, great food and the place was lovely. WE WILL DEFINITELY GO BACK!More

We went here for dinner with a fairly large group of friends. The service was good and everyone enjoyed their meal. I had the veal saltimbocca which was good, but a friend said the vodka pasta was great. This is St. Louis, so this is...not the best Italian food you can get by far, but overall it was good and the restaurant is very nice.More

A nice Italian-American menu with salads, soups, sandwiches and updated takes on traditional pasta dishes. Food was good, no complaints, but nothing really special. We had salads and a chicken parmesan sandwich from the 'pick 2' selections. Lunch for two with nice bread basket, tea,...coffee and a glass of very good house white wine each came to $44. Service was excellent.More

We had a terrible experience. We made a reservation early afternoon for a party of 6. When we arrived, they had changed it to 4. Then the hostess informed us they had big parties and the place was reserved for the holidays. On a Saturday...night? Then why accept our reservation? The waiter was impatient and invasive. He visibly rolled his eyes when we weren't ready to order. Then, he said, "sorry, you have to leave", and rushed us out. We were in town from out of state (Texas) visiting with family from Illinois and Missouri whom we hadn't seen for a year. Food was marginal. Definitely not worth the money. Marginal good, rude hostess, poor reservation system, annoyed waiter.More

Vito's is a beautiful restaurant, and the food is AMAZING. The bruschetta and salad tasted so fresh and high quality. Dwight, our waiter, was a very charming. Great happy hour deals too! I will definitely go back!

Went for lunch with a work group of 4 people. Had never been to STL and wanted to try fried rav. We started with 2 orders. It was good so I checked that box on the trip. Meat ravioli, marinara sauce, slice parm. Ok to...good. They have a lunch special where you can pick a salad and small version of an entree for $12. I had a ceasar and penne vodka. The salad was fine but the vodka sauce was much heavier than I expected. Some cheese was inter grated in the sauce so not my favorite. For a quick work lunch it was a step above a typical chain but nothing I would run back to. Server was on top of things, kept water full. There was a nice bar area and an extensive happy starting a 11Am for drinks and 2pm for food specials. I could see this being a good place for a group happy hour after work. Just had a typical suburban feel to it.More

Everything about this restaurant is as it should be: nice pleasant waitstaff, tasty food, and good value for money. However, their portion size is huge. After taking a slice of bread and sharing an appetizer, we could barely put a dent in the dishes that...were shared by two persons. The shrimp dishes are the best with large size shrimp. Good family outing.More
