Looking for somewhere different in the Cape and this pops up as first in the area. Rating is high, with lots of glowing reviews, so off we go to try it.
Cute downtown area, but was not impressed with the vibe given off by the...restaurant. Just seemed a little tired. Everyone from the host to our waitress was extremely friendly and that helped, but overall the vibe just didn’t feel right.
The menu does not have prices on it. That is a first in all my years. You have to look at an online menu to see prices. Odd.
We decided on a shrimp poboy and jambalaya. Both were huge. The portion size is easily sharable. But that’s the only good thing. The taste was very average. The chicken in the jambalaya was hard and dried. The sausage was better, but the sticky sweet creole sauce was unexpected. I have never had jambalaya like this. Not bad, but not great. The poboy was dressed with mayo and ketchup. I have never experienced this, either. The sandwich was okay at best. The shrimp were def. little frozen ones you can buy at any bulk store.
All in all, better than a meal at a chain restaurant, but I would not see reason to return.More
