A very friendly pub that loves Dogs! Duke enjoys visiting here as often as I do and staff provide friendly service. Having arrived an hour before cooking I was given my meal and enjoyed it in this historic pub.

Thanks for taking the time to write a review Neil. We definitely do love dogs and our greyhound Sammy is always happy to share her garden with new friends! Glad you enjoyed your food in the lovely country surroundings.

Walking into the Boars Head there is always a warm welcome from the staff. A selection of good ales and a great new menu! Just enjoyed a hearty roast dinner, quick service in a comfy environment. Always a pleasure visiting.

Pub tucked away in small village. I so much wanted to like my visit. Entrance a little uninviting with a bucket of sand and loads of cigarette nubs on doorstep. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. The pub and gardens have a nice atmosphere. There...More

This used to be a pub that served good quality, honest pub grub. Instead now it seems they're serving up lazy, processed trash. Frozen chips and a veggie Iceland burger really shouldn't have a place on the menu of such a beautiful rural pub with...More

Thank you for your review. Interestingly the food supplied by Marstons has been the same for several years. However our new menu was launched yesterday and has an even better variety of fresh dishes including vegetarian options. We always stock a variety of beers, though...More

Thanks for taking the time to give us your feedback. Sorry the highchair had not been cleaned properly - that is clearly not acceptable. We are always keen to put right anything which is not up to standard at the time it occurs. We make...More

We went to the Boars Head for food last night and I cannot stress how friendly and helpful the staff were. A waitress greeted us as soon as we walked into the pub with smiles and enthusiasm. At the bar the manager/owner was very friendly...More

We were directed to the Boars Head by our hotel receptionist, who phoned ahead to confirm we could take our dog. First impressions were another great old pub on hard times, if there hadn't been a call put in we would have driven past assuming...More

Having read the reviews and all of the promise of change and listening to comments by the new manager we decided to meet with an old friend for supper and a catch up. I can honestly say that I have never been so embarrassed about...More
