After many visits and good food, my wife and I booked and went for a celebration meal. Ham egg and chips was very good. Pie of the Day however was very poor. Partly cooked puff pastry top covered a very watery filling, although taste was just OK. Veg was aldente which is OK but barely warm. Mash was only just... More

Nice country pub in a cute(ish) location. Staff are friendly and the food was good. I had a burger which was good and juicy and well seasoned with a brioche bun. Colleague had sausage and mash and said it was good. Good value pub grub. The decor is a little dark/dated so for me, it was good for lunch but... More

After a nice walk with our dog we popped in for an impromptu lunch. Despite being busy the service was good and quite quick. We shared a salmon ciabatta and fries both really tasty and no faults. I do love a pint of youngs bitter and they served me a lovely one!

Great place and atmosphere. Excellent service and good food - overall. My starter was to die for. Poached egg on smoked salmon with asparagus and bechamel sauce. Beautiful. But the butternut chilli with sour cream and polenta 'chips' was more than disappointing. The chilli was bland and had the look and taste of something that had been sitting around for... More

First time coming here, I thought it would be typical pub food, I couldn't be more wrong, there's a nice variety on the menu and the portion sizes are good. You can tell the chefs work hard to get it out! A good place to eat and relax.

Considering three of us were twenty minutes late and they take last orders at 2pm oops. The food and service was excellent, the right amount of time between courses , presentation superb, I had ham double eggs and chips (ham omg at least 2inches thick) sooo tasty. I definitely return and recommend this pub. My only comment is they need... More

We're always looking for that olde world charm country pub for a roast and have been here a number of times. It's pretty much 100% am eating pub and most of the time on a Sunday at lunchtime it's fully booked. If you can request a table in a side room or at the front of the pub as this... More

It's a bit out of the way, but definitely worth the trouble. The pub has plenty of parking and inside it is lots of dark wood, stone floor and warm fires. Good range of Bath ales, cider and wines. We thought the food was excellent. Some great specials on the black board like venison stew, charcuterie plate, beef & horseradish... More

I come here so often with my friends and/or partner. I've even introduced it to my family who can't help themselves from traveling an hour up the motorway to come back for more. The atmosphere inside is perfect, a really lovely, cosy, country pub (my Aunty who visited from Cyprus fell in love with it). The staff here always seem... More

The pub inside is very nice, had a lovely feel about it until.... the manageress was called over to a table (someone appeared to of made a mistake when ordering.) She came out and in front of the restaurant announced the issue and unprofessionally spoke to the customer, everyone looked around almost in shock with the attitude of the manageress.... More
