We stopped off here on our drive from Vicksburg to Memphis, on the strength of trip advisor reviews, and I'm really glad we did. It doesn't look much from the outside (and the neighbourhood as a whole is a bit shabby), but the tamales were delicious, and incredible value for money. 100% recommended.

If you want a nice taste of tiny beef tamales from a tiny cafe, this is the place for you! It has been here a very long time...The tamales were spicy and quite tasty! That is all they have to eat and they also sell sodas.

If you're in the delta, you must eat hot tamales. It would be a sin not to. And it would be a greater sin not to do so at the White Front Cafe and sit a while to eat tamales and pass the time of day with its owner, Miss Barbara, a lovely human being. We had previously stopped at... More

Barbara Pooe is carrying on the tradition begun by her brother to make great Delta hot tamales. Located on the Hot Tamale Trail, it was the first food place also placed on the Mississippi Blues Trail. Great hot tamales and wonderful company in Barbara. Eat in or carry out. She is open during the day but usually closed at night.... More

The White Front Cafe is the perfect example of the small town South. This tiny cafe in this tiny town serves up delicious food (we tried more than one tamale place that day and this was by far the best!) in a laid back atmosphere with no frills, and the owner, Ms. Barbara, is very sweet. We enjoyed talking to... More

If you are keen on Blues, you have to try the best tamales in the Delta. ...And they are Red Hot!!!!! as Robert Johnson said. The owner is very kind.

After finding out about the White Front from the the Tamale Trail interview, we had to visit the White Front. The tamales were melt in your mouth incredible, and my favorite tamale in the South. Mrs. Pope is charming and didn't mind our questions about the history of the business. Highly recommended!

On a recent trip down Mississippi's Tamale Trail, we stopped in Rosedale at Joe's Hot Tamale Place, White Front Cafe, which had been featured on Alton Brown's show "Feasting on Waves," on Food Network. We were warmly greeted by Mrs. Pope who runs the place. Crackers were served with the tamales, which were excellent with just enough spicy heat. It's... More
