We grabbed a bite to eat before a concert and truly dumbfounded at how people spend money here. I was appalled at the way they ran the stations, seated, waited and cleaned. The food was not worth the price!! I had the shrimp po boy and boyyyy was it lacking!! I just ate the shrimp off the sandwich as everything... More

Traveled to Jackson on business, and my host decided to take us to a "spot where the locals go." The decor in the restaurant was neat - Elvis- & boogie-themed paraphernalia adorned the walls, and the service was fine. The food, or more specifically the burger, was way overpriced for what is was. $9 for a smallish 1/4-lb patty, and... More

Not quit a 5, but better than a 4 star rating. The atmosphere is top notch. The good was fantastic. Our server was very polite but just missed a few things like asking if you wanted chips or fries when you order a burger. It comes with neither so you have to specify, which in my mind the server should... More

Since it seems that most of the local restaurants close down at about 2 PM, we weren't left with a lot of choices. I went for the Reuben (okay, but nothing outstanding) and my wife went for the beans and rice (spicy, but a much better choice). All in all, it was a bit overpriced for the quality/quantity. Draft beers... More

I'm sad that it has taken me so long to visit this fine establishment! We were able to sit at a cozy table and take in the soothing sounds of a jazz trio while eating comforting food. We had the hamburger steak and roast beef open face sandwiches. The portion size was ample. Our waiter Michael was very knowledgeable about... More

Lovely relaxed bar / restaurant. Called called by on a Wednesday evening without a booking. It was quiet but a few locals in for food and drinks. Good acoustic music from a local man kept us entertained. Food was good (we got chicken Caesar and burger), wished we could have stayed for a few more drinks - such a charming... More

I loved my meal, my wife did too. The musical entertainment was excellent. And our waitress was very personable.

Hal and Mal's is the place to go for music but also for terrific food. Be sure to order the onion rings! And the tamales! Seafood is delicious too. Save room for pie!

The food is actually really good. And the server was pretty good. However, they were pushing us out at 9:30 on a Thursday. The band was way too loud for the small space. And I should point out that the food was good except apparently the kitchen staff was so lazy that they did not peel the fried shrimp prior... More

From most of the reviews, we were expecting some outstanding food but we were disappointed. I ordered a Caesar salad with blackened redfish. For a cajun/creole restaurant, you would think the place would know the difference between blackened and cajun. My fish was not blackened but had a sprinkle of cajun spices on it. The salad was nothing but romaine... More
