Hal and Mal's is the place to go for music but also for terrific food. Be sure to order the onion rings! And the tamales! Seafood is delicious too. Save room for pie!

The food is actually really good. And the server was pretty good. However, they were pushing us out at 9:30 on a Thursday. The band was way too loud for the small space. And I should point out that the food was good except apparently the kitchen staff was so lazy that they did not peel the fried shrimp prior... More

From most of the reviews, we were expecting some outstanding food but we were disappointed. I ordered a Caesar salad with blackened redfish. For a cajun/creole restaurant, you would think the place would know the difference between blackened and cajun. My fish was not blackened but had a sprinkle of cajun spices on it. The salad was nothing but romaine... More

It's been a while since we dined at Hal and Mal's, so our memories of past experiences were vague at best. One of us was very pleased, I had the Hot Roast Beef Poboy with Fries topped with Gravy and a local Craft Beer (I would do this again any time). The other one of us, no so much. My... More

We found this place on trip advisor. We were driving through on our way to Myrtle Beach and wanted to eat at a local place. Luckily it was Friday so we got to have the Seafood Bisque! So glad! Hershey was our server and she was the sweetest thing! Would definitely go again.

I eat lunch here once or twice a week. The lunch specials are reasonably priced (and comes with tea), good portions, fairly healthy and tasty!!

We usually figure that a bar's drinks won't be as expensive as a restaurant's. That didn't hold true here. Our service left something to be desired, too. But the seafood chowder was delicious. My husband had the hot roast beef which was good but got to be a little much as he ate.

Interesting atmosphere for lunch and I was not impressed by the hostess or bar staff, but my server was very attentive. The food was also very good.

We arrived in Jackson and booked into our hotel. We were looking for something to eat around 7pm but our hotel couldn't even offer a bar snack as they had sent their chef home as it was quiet!! Nothing around the hotel seemed open but we stumbled upon this place and it was just perfect! Food was excellent and music... More

A good choice for lunch or dinner, and equally as a watering hole at happy hour or for some live music. Always fun, casual, and friendly.
