Its a small place that seems to stay packed with the older local croud. Prices were around 20.00 - 30.00 a plate. They have fresh sea food (mainly fish) along with steaks and a few other things.

Some of the best fried okra and turnip greens I have ever had. So yummy. It's been in existence since the 1930's lots of character.

The broiled catfish is excellent and available as a lunch special every day. The bread pudding is also unbelievably tasty and very inexpensive with your lunch.

Whether you go for the food, the atmosphere, or the service, you won't be disappointed. You feel like you've stepped back in time when you visit the Mayflower Café. My husband loves the seafood and I love the grilled chicken.

This restaurant is a best kept secret. It is not a 5 star restaurant but the food more than makes up for it.
