Had lunch on the porch with a friend. Great food and ambiance. Service pretty good, worried at time they had forgotten about us, service good for the most part
My Eggs Benedict were pretty pedestrian. The Benedict made with crab cakes was over the top delicious. The potato side dish was a disappointment. Billed as potatoes, onions and peppers, frozen potato cubes and no other veg. Not great at $20 a plate prix fixe. Value just not there.
The Chimneys is located in an old home with beautiful trees in the front yard and outdoor seating available on the front porch. The food is fine dining fare with a limited amount of choices but typical of this type of restaurant. We enjoyed the ambiance and the food. The Chimneys is suitable for a romantic dinner or a casual... More
It goes without saying the ambiance of Chimneys is first class all the was. The staff is professional, accommodating, and they enjoy working there. I had the stuffed mushroom caps, wonderful. Enjoyed every bite! Then a very nice filet of beef cooked to perfection. I did enjoy eating it. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the bar tender,... More
Upscale restaurant, wonderful menu - lots to choose from. The server interrupted our conversation and continued on even though we weren't too interested in what she had to say. Eventually she caught on and left us alone for a while. Other than that we enjoyed our lunch there - especially the food - it was delicious and beautifully presented.
Love, love the atmosphere at Chimneys! Beautiful home modeled after the antebellum homes with a beautiful yard overlooking the beautiful coast! Love to sit out on the porch when we're afforded nice weather! The food is always delicious. I'm always eager to hear about the specials - they're unique offerings made with fresh ingredients. True old-fashioned gumbo with the really... More

Don't remember there being any iceberg at all. My husband had the special of the evening and I had sautéed shrimp. Both were delicious. Learned about history of restaurant from owners. Overall,ma... My family and friends were excited to try The Chimneys, and some of their food was good. The spinach dip - for instance - is outstanding, and they have a pretty good wine selection. That said, the cheap iceberg lettuce they use in their salads was disappointing, even though much of the seafood piled on top tasted great. Our main... More

Driving thru from Texas to Florida. Will spend the nite in Gulfport. Trying to decide dinner between The Chimneys and Blow Fly. And, can we dine in dress shorts (not cutoffs)?
