Since I heard about Lusco's' two years ago from my wife--who is from Greenwood, Mississippi--I've wanted to have dinner there. Their entrance is one of those busy rooms filled with mounted animals, sauces and syrups for sale and other knick knacks. Since the restaurant used to be a speakeasy, the booths are basically walled off from their surroundings--you would have... More

Food is really good, reasonable prices, just in the getto area of Greenwood. Enjoy eating there, just afraid of getting mugged or my car getting broken in to.

Wonderful food and service. The Pampano, shrimp and crabmeat, and ribeye were outstanding! Service couldn't be better. Buck was our waiter. We was very attentive and came within seconds of our call. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

This is an incredibly cool place for history buffs. The service was actually very good. Cleanliness however was non existent. The bathroom appeared to be one you would find at a dirty gas station on the interstate no, wait, those are actually cleaned once in a while. This place is cool and has plenty of potential but they really should... More

A few reviews have said it is in a bad neighborhood; however, coming from New Orleans we felt it was a safe neighborhood. There is a guard in front and secure parking across the street - but we just walked from the train station. The atmosphere, such as the individual booths and the period items in reception, is interesting. Service... More

Remember prohibition? In those days it was illegal to have a drink with dinner. So this place (hidden behind a small market) has each table in a private room. You must bring your own bottle, but they'll set you up. Food is superb. Everything cooked just the way you like it. Marvelous. Character! Character! Character!

My husband definitely doesn't have to twist my arm to go here!! Family owned and operated since the beginning of time, this place is worth the trip! Call ahead and make them save you a Pompano! It's the best in the world!

Steaks, seafood specials and Italian spaghetti are all excellent. Pompano is exceptional. This is a great place for southern atmosphere at its best. Bring a group and reserve one of their booths. This is a Greenwood tradition.

We visited this Greenwood landmark restaurant (been around for 83 years) after reading about it in Dispatches from Pluto. Also-Anthony Bourdain visited and filmed a dinner during his Mississippi Delta episode of Parts Unknown. The restaurant is definitely located in a sketchy part of Greenwood. Do not park anywhere except in the fenced lot directly across the street. A "security... More

This is a not-to-miss true Delta experience. Not only is the food delicious but the atmosphere is unlike any other. You can feel the history of the building and Greenwood inside each of those private rooms. Service was also impeccable. I recommend the Broiled Shrimp in Lusco’s Shrimp Sauce for an appetizer and the catch of the day with the... More
