Amazing find and excellent meal at this delightful place. Charred broccoli for appetizer was amazing. They should bottle the dressing and sell it. Burger was well prepared on a toasted bun. Definitely going back.

Delicious lunch! Thank you, Trip Advisor, for the recommendation! We loved this town and enjoyed our lunch! I had crab bisque (YUM) & fried green tomatoes (perfectly done). My husband had the Nashville hot chicken poboy; spicy, but not overly so, and served on marvelous...fresh bun. Usually don’t do dessert, but the hot fudge pie with pecan whiskey ice cream was outstanding! Don’t miss this if you’re in the area!More

Greenwood is so fortunate to have several great restaurants and Fan and Johnny’s is one of the best! Lunch has many offerings from their apps( must tries are their oyster biscuits, fried green tomatoes, hot tamales with a kick) to mention a few! Great selection...of Po Boys using Gambino PB buns from NOLA( my go too is the Catfish PB with sweet potato fries done right! Each day they offer special lunch entrees that showcase the chefs culinary skills featuring local herbs and ingredients! Love me some Fan and Johnny’s!!!!More

When my wife and I moved to Oxford in 2002, the first restaurant we visited was Yocona River Inn, which quickly became our go-to place for business and pleasure dining. Then it burned. Chef Taylor Ricketts tried to make a go of it 20 miles...north in Abbeville, but it did not work out, as with most places that are uprooted by disaster. Today she turns out meals that are value for money in Greenwood. We were pleased to find she keeps the same quality of ingredients and attention to detail today at Fan & Johnny’s.More

I used to come here when it was the Delta Grill and always liked it, but never quite loved it. Now I love the place. Although, a caution, this review is based on one lunch, by myself, so I had limited chance to sample very...much. I will be going back to work my way around the menu. The restaurant is very comfortable, the service is great and efficient and friendly. For lunch I had a crab bisque that was thick with super fresh lump crab meat, some cream and just the perfect blend of herbs and spices to create both a delicious blend while maintaining the individual flavors of the ingredients as well. It came with what was called a crostini, which was sort of a large crouton. It was okay, I would have preferred a piece of fresh bread. But the soup was perfect. My main course was a super fresh, roasted yet still with crunch to it, large poblano pepper stuffed with minced beef, onions and a very good stringy cheese. It was served on a bed of slightly spicy, slightly vinegary (kind of like a light Louisiana hot sauce) rough ground grits, and topped with a truly perfect, light and flavorful roasted tomato sauce. The individual ingredients were great, the dish as a whole was almost revelatory, one of the best things I have eaten in a while. I washed it down with the usual bottomless glass of unsweet ice tea which was nice and strong the way I like it. That's it. No dessert this time, I was far too full. But I am definitely headed back to try more. The daily specials all looked interesting and I think I could have been happy ordering any of them. The Po Boys that walked past me on their way to other tables, also looked well worth a try.More

I'm always impressed with the ability to be innovative but with commitment to the tried and true. That said the food was not disappointing in the least. I could only give them four stars as the service was just a tad slow. Would like to...try for dinner when we come back to GreenwoodMore

Cauliflower and Gumbo of appetizer. Cauliflower had delicious seasoning and cooked perfectly. Gumbo had chef's twist which was just spicy enough. Nice nice sized Scallops resting on 'smashed potatoes' which were wonderfully different, with grilled green beans which were very tasty. Wife had the Crab...Cakes, nice portion size which she said were about the best she ever had. Ended with Hot Fudge Pie ... OMG with Gelato Ice Cream on top ... to die for. Best meal ever in Greenwood. Oh, also had Alligator with Chef's Comeback Sauce which was best Comeback Sauce I have ever enjoyed.More

We were driving through Mississippi and stopped to see a friend in Greenwood. She mentioned this restaurant as a great place to eat in town. It turned out to be one the highlights on our trip ... the kind of meal you talk about as...a great flavorful experience. If we head through that part of the state again, we will look up Fan and Johnny's.More

Fan and Jonny's quickly became our "go to" place for both lunch and dinner. We had 3 excellent meals here during our visit. We tried to sample a variety of menu items. The pimento cheese queso was too oily for my tastes, but very good...flavor. My husband raved about the fried alligator appetizer. Black bean soup, fried okra, and blueberry crisp were delicious. Highly recommend!More

Normally when in Greenwood my family dines at Giardina’s at the Aluvian. We read online that Fan and Johnny’s had great food and a James Beard nominated chef so we were excited to try it. Our expectation was well prepared and presented food. The restaurant...is BYOB but that was okay with us. We found the food average at best. Attention to food presentation was lacking..the steak frites was a large steak just laid over a large serving of mediocre fries. We found most of the food okay but we would not recommend the black eyed pea cake (lacked seasoning) nor the crab bisque (lumpy …not with crabmeat). On the plus side, the server was very friendly and very accommodating. However, I regretted that we did not go to Giardina’s .More
