What a gem. Uplifting funky decor, small town friendliness, and very delicious fresh food. In this restaurant, your food dollars help to offer a better future for young people who want it and are motivated. Now that's a winning recipe. Go, enjoy, and think about...the good stuff out there..... Note opening days and hours, as they're limited.More

Enjoyable time with friendly owner. Had the chilli which was great. My wife had the seafood lasagna which was tasty. It is a relaxed atmosphere..a little music would be one small suggestion. We were allowed to bring our own adult beverage which was great. It...is pay what you want which is a clever strategy. Guessing most people are generous...which they should be! Next time we are in town, we will go again for sure.More

What an experience! You never know what is on the menu or how much to pay but you will NEVER be disappointed! The food is always divine and for the purpose of the restaurant as a culinary teaching school, you pay what you feel the...food is worth. The menu changes depending on what is growing in the garden. You won't want to miss these fresh meals!More

Wow!! Talk about a great friendly place to enjoy a delicious meal. Starfish Cafe is a nonprofit restaurant that trains young entrepreneurs all the stages of a restaurant business. The meal cost is by donation only. My sisters and I enjoyed a delicious meal from...Asia. We had a taste of the whole menu and were NOT disappointed!! I can’t wait to go back again!!More

Tried to go on Wednesday but closed so made another try on Thursday -success! Lovely personnel. Some great and then so-so dishes. Antipasto salad fabulous as well as ahi tuna tacos. However, the special chicken caprese sandwiches were just average - somewhat dry.

Thank you for coming back on Thursday. We appreciate your feedback. Sorry the sandwich was less than fabulous. Please let us know when you are here so we can make corrections in any dish less than fabulous:) Thank you again!

On the very last day of a 10-day exploration in Louisiana and Mississippi, I happened across Starfish Cafe in Bay St. Louis. Happily I now consider it one of the best stops on that trip. Di Fillhart and her team go above and beyond when...it comes to hospitality, graciousness, food, and fun. Cute starfish and other coastal themes decorate the cafe. Pleasant people work there while learning a viable restaurant skill set to insure a brighter future. When I saw potatoe soup served in a tea cup, it just made me feel happy. When Di granted me an interview, it seriously made my whole day! This place has a purpose and you just really need to go in, try the food, ask Di about the purpose, and experience the pleasure. Oh, and "pay what you want" is a real thing there !!!More

It was truly a pleasure having lunch at the Starfish Cafe’ this past Wednesday! Di’s little beach cottage cafe is amazing, from the outside to the inside! The Starfish Cafe is so full of love, color, flowers, herbs, fruit, bees, and butterflies with an incredible...menu loaded with amazing culinary talents using fresh and locally grown and acquired products. The “pay what you want” concept and mission, overflows with love of all living things. All of this and much more are all a testimony to what Di believes in, and she makes you feel at home, sharing personal stories with her guests. The cross country bicycling lady’s ghost pepper story is now my favorite....go, Freida, go!!! ☮️❤️🍍More

My fiance took me to the Starfish Cafe for the first time. Ms. Di was soo welcoming and cheery. Extremely personable, and talked to you as if you were an old friend she saw just the other day. The restaurant has a fantastic homely seaside...vibe and the Mint Iced Tea is absolutely AMAZING! The food is worth more than it's weight in gold. Always fresh, beautifully plated, and served with the warmest smiles. Even though it's a "pay-what-you-feel" type of restaurant, we always over pay what we normally would because the service is amazing, food is wonderful, and all the proceeds go right back into the program that Ms. Di runs right out of this wonderful restaurant. We try to go every week for our date nights if time permits. But seriously, definitely go.More

The zinnias and cherry tomatoes will lead you to,the door, and Ms. Di will invite you in with warmth and cheer. The curry chicken salad will delight you, and the key lime pie with pistachio crust will comfort you. If you’re vegetarian or gluten-free, Mrs.Di...and her son’s staff will take care of you with delicious and attractive foods indistinguishable from fares listed on the menu. And you will warm the cockles of your own heart knowing that your generous offering to the not-for profit cafe for your quality meal and meaningful conversation will help train cooks, servers, and managers so that they will find work with dignity. It’s a win - win - win.More

Hi :), we have two Greek Salads, Greek Pasta and Greek Zucchini Noodles. The Greek Zucchini has noodles made of zucchini, artichokes, romas, feta, kalamata olives and Greek seasoning. Hope this helps. Have a great day.
