This is slightly different form other reviews in that we were having a family meal with 24 people attending! However that only adds to the superior service and fabulous food which was proven by empty plates all around! (Including a 16 year old and a 9 year old!) Elle, our hostess bent over backwards to accommodate some of our more... More

Eat here last week on route to westport. Lovely food ,really enjoyed the homemade soup and brown bread . Friendly service and good prices. Just a 100 yards from the Apple service station if you are stopping for fuel on your trip

My husband and I eat here every time we visit Roscommon. The food is mostly locally sourced . They do very reasonably priced specials apart from the regular menu. The food is always excellent quality and cooked to perfection. Generous portion also. Friendly and efficient staff. Would highly recommend a visit at anytime of the day. They are also open... More

Had visited the Friary on a number of times in the past to find it closed when one would expect it to be open..early evenings etc. Yesterday we called again on the off chance we might get some food. We were pleasantly surprised to find it has been reopened under the name DG's & that the food was great. We... More

Had a meal here in December consisting of beef I must say the beef was the most tender and tastiest I have had in a long time. I will most definitely visit this restaurant soon again thanks.

Stopped here for lunch. Lasagne with garlic bread, side salad and chunky chips. Presentation was really good. Garlic bread and chips were homemade as, I expect, was the lasagne. Chips were really good. Garlic bread could have been more "garlicky". It was okay though. The salad was uninviting. Served in a small deep bowl it was not possible to see... More

Starving after a long days driving Dublin/Sligo/Dublin via the N5,? There is a beautiful eating house in Tulsk - DG The Friary Family Restaurant, formerly O'Connor's. I was in it once before and was really impressed then with scrumptious food, great service and staff and a homely comfortable atmosphere. I was itching to try it out again just to ensure... More

Decided to go out for a meal here, the Restaurant was pretty quiet yet there was just an extra chair put to a table for 4 which left for very little space for eating, even though there was bigger tables available. We decided to order a drink from bar and had stated we would pay for this separately but yet... More
