Went on Easter Sunday for lunch. The car park was busy so I resigned to having a long wait and poor service. But no, loads of room inside. All the staff were pleasant and helpful. Our orders were served in excellent time and were of great quality and quantity. Prices were not bad either. All in all it was a... More

The Five Bells is nearly the perfect village pub. It boasts some great ales and lagers and it accompanies these with some lovely food. The location is ideal for locals and out-of-towners alike and the building is absolutely gorgeous. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the menus. I live in Stanbridge and decided to take some family up for... More

I came back with a friend at 1pm for lunch. The staff were really friendly and offered a taster of beer before buying a pint which not everywhere does - this was greatly appreciated. The food again tasted really good. Good serving size swell. There was maybe 6 other tables in the whole place that were eating but we didn't... More

Came here for dinner with friends, from the minute we walked through the door we were made to feel welcome. The staff are all so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We ate in the restaurant and the four of us all had three courses sharing our starters which were all first class. Our main courses were cooked perfectly... More

At a time when the village pub is shutting down at a crazy amount per week I have found an oasis and well worth popping for a pint and meal. whilst driving home from a business meeting I dropped in for mid week lunch and wasn't disappointed, the food was very tasty, the service was friendly and the general ambience... I've been here several times and always had good food. They often have a large fire which is so nice on the colder days! And you can bring your dogs. Perfect!!! It is a well presented, quiet pub with a separate area for fine dining which is also very nice to be in. I had the wild mushroom and spinach... More

Our family visited here for Sunday lunch and we were not dissapointed. On arrival the car park was full so whilst a little difficult to park it was a sure sign this was a popular place to eat. The food is very tasty, well prepared, and wholesome. The price seemed very reasonable for our dishes and drinks. If you're in... More

Description
The Five Bells in Stanbridge is a quintessential English 17th Century public house adorned with low ceiling beams, open fires in winter and large outdoor area for warmer months.

The menu changes seasonally and uses the best local suppliers and ingredients to create a well balanced concise menu that is all cooked to order and made on site.

The public bar provides a great place to meet with friends or enjoy a well earned drink after a long dog walk. Dogs are welcome in the bar area so long as they are supervised.

All in all, a charming, warm and friendly local with great beer, great food and great company.
