We stayed in Marshall, MN. ( Sleep Inn). Got up early to have breakfast at Nellie's. A huge fan of the series and of the books, I was beside myself. Sooo excited. Wasn't sure what to expect with some of the reviews, but we had come too far. The cafe is very typical of a small town cafe but we... More

Had to be done, even if just for a coffee. Unfortunately the owners/staff were not overly friendly, a bit like Nellie Olsen I guess .... lol, but not rude either. Just that they could have been a little more welcoming. Maybe it was because I was an overseas visitor and they had difficulty understanding my accent ..... Who knows? It... More

As my wife if a hug fan of Laura Ingall's Wilder and her books eating at Nellie's was a no brainer. After having visited the museum we drove across the street to near empty Nellie's. It was about 1:30 in the afternoon. We took a seat in a booth, were offered water and menu's. After perusing the menu for a... More

Loved being able to eat at a family-owned place. Has small town feel and cooked to order. Had the Nellie burger while my family tried the steak and kid's menu. Dessert pies a must or a scoop of ice cream to top it off! All six of us were happy and satisfied.

We enjoyed our meal and the friendliness of staff; however we left hungry. Taco salad was nearly $8 and it came out on a small plate. It was just a small plate of corn chips with hamburger, lettuce, and a few toppings. Chicken strips were really good, as were the fries. $18.50 for 1 adult and 1 child, but left... More

Today I had the pleasure of visiting Nellie's Cafe. I was very satisfied with my visit. Our waiter was very nice and checked on us at good times. The food was good and well priced. I would recommend the 8oz Hamburger Steak. It was great. I would defiantly go back. It was a good little quick stop.

Good diner food. Service was very fast and friendly. Food is a la cart which made it more expensive. Only cash is accepted, no credit or debit cards.

Nice family diner, small, quaint, older diner. Homestyle food, very good. Fair prices. Homemade pies, good soups, sandwiches and meals.
