A group of us traveling through Virginia eat at this place once a year for that last half dozen or so years except for last year (2020) due to the pandemic. Most of us get their self-proclaimed meatloaf. One of the two owners usually stops by our table to say hello. Very friendly. Atmosphere is comfortable though the interior could use a little updating - ceiling tiles, rug, etc. No one in our group has had a compliant and enjoys this stop to get a good meal. Hope to back in 2021 assuming they are open and following CDC guidance as others have pointed out.

Food is so-so. Nothing to write home about. The ceiling and fish tanks are nice. Last waitress we had wasn't very friendly. It's never busy so an ok choice of you want to get seated immediately.

We've eaten at the adventures numerous times over the years and have found the food is not the greatest but it is a change of scenery and the restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere. Once the Covid ban on businesses was lifted, we thought it would be nice to eat out for a change knowing that masks and social distancing was still being mandated. What a surprise to find that no one in the Adventures were wearing masks, including the manager. Even our waitress did not wear a mask, which we thought to be very scary since she was almost on top of us when she took our order. We should have simply walked out but instead we uncomfortably ordered and finishing eating our meal ( which by the way was not at all very good). Think about it. If the management thinks that little of the safety of their customers that they refuse wearing a mask to protect them, what other safety measures are they ignoring? We will never have to worry about that since we will eat elsewhere from now on.

Overall, a completely underwhelming experience. I've eaten in the restaurant and gotten take-out several times. The meat (no matter which type of protein you order) is always dried out and tastes reheated. The vegetables are a bag of frozen, '99 cent store' vegetable medley, rather than anything fresh; and typically overcooked enough to be easily converted to baby food (which was actually a perk when I had young children because we didn't need to bring a jar of Gerber with us if we went out). Your salt options are either 'way too much' or 'none at all'. This place tries to be fancy, but is basically just a glorified Perkins at twice the price. The small fish tank inside is nice though. One star for the fish that are swimming in their tank. Zero stars for this fish on the menu.

Husband and I went to dinner here and were shocked that the servers were not wearing masks. I had Shrimp Diane and it was not very hot when presented thouhgt it might have waited for husbands wild rice meatfloaf to be finished which he thought was great and it was hot. Will not return due to lack of concern for customer safety.

We decided to try this restaurant again as we haven't been here for over a year. I ordered the pasta primavera and my husband got a bacon cheeseburger. The noodles/sauce were good but the vegetables were very odd. Huge chunks and strips of onion, a couple carrots that were brown inside, a massive piece of green pepper, and hard green beans. There were also mushrooms but I pushed those to the side because I hate them. My husband said his burger didn't have any flavor and it wouldn't have been edible if it didn't have the bacon on it. The fries were okay. We were also right by the door so every time someone came in or out a cold blast washed over us and made our food get cold quite quickly. Only plus was the waitress was really nice. It did take forever to get our drinks as well (tap beer and a soda) but the waitress apologized. If I didn't care about wasting food or money we wouldn't have ate the meals but we do, and definitely don't trust sending items back to the kitchen. Won't be back.

I took my date to have some meatloaf and ribs..
The food was marginal and tasted bland but edible a real marginal meal... Which is odd we had eaten there several times in the past..
And the food was serviceable.
This time me and my date both had a bad reaction to the food.
I called as soon I could after the incident and was told by the manger?? Owner ??
That basically he didn't care and it was my problem..
So I guess I can only say in my opinion I wouldn't eat at Adventures in Virginia, Mountain Iron area as they are incapable of having a mistake.
Good luck with your dining adventures!

Went for take out during the covid shutdown. I have a hard time chewing but their pork chop was supposedly very tender... No. I couldn't even bite a piece much less chew it. Husband had a lobster pasta dish that he was very disappointed in. We both looked for lobster but all we found was tiny salad shrimp! Grandson had a teriyaki chicken and some fancy rice he wouldn't even touch the rice. He said chicken was good though. I put the rice and my chop in a container for the husbands lunch the next day and he tossed it in the trash after a bite of each. Quite pricey for something we couldn't even eat. Also.. NOBODY was wearing gloves or a mask to protect the customers. I will not go back!

We have a lake cottage in Eveleth and my wife and I had a group of 5 children and after hitting WalMart we needed a place to feed everybody.
We stopped here and the service was excellent, the food was great and everybody ate every bite, kids ordered off regular menu, not even sure if they had a kids menu.
Also my wife and I had a nice glass of wine at a great price.
We will be back next summer and will hit this place for sure.

I had the wild rice meatloaf and it was the best I have ever tasted! My wife has the chicken terraki, which was also very good. Our waitress was quite attentive and did a good job

We were hungry for steak, so went to Adventures. It was great. And we had a bloody Mary. Mistake. That is a meal by itself! Delicious, but didn't need food.😉 The staff really cares. We love this place.

The restaurant was filthy. There was thick dust on the lamps and windowsills. If the dining room is this filthy I hate to imagine what the kitchen is like.

I ordered the cajun black and blue burger. No spice, no cheese, no taste. I paid a dollar for fried onions that I had to pull off the burger. They were not fried, more like steamed and rubbery. I asked for recommendations...the host went through the entire menu with items he said were good...fantastic and awesome. He recommended any of the burgers. With I quote "it's pretty tough to screw up a burger". Apparently not. I couldn't eat it, left half. My friend ordered the highly recommended meatloaf and took two bites, left the rest. At least my beer was cold.
