It was a 90th birthday celebration for a 'not-so-old' friend! We wanted something special and we were not disappointed. Lunch was very well priced and delicious. Waiter was well informed and very accommodating. This place has a lot of nostalgic effect on the locals and Minnesotans in general. Stillwater is the birthplace of Minnesota and the Lowell Inn makes it... More

Had a brunch in a lovely dining room. Unfortunately the food was lacking in quality.it was quite disappointing. The lobby was nice.

We made reservations for tea at 11 am. It was absolutely lovely! Brandon was very attentive and provided good service. The tea was four courses and all the food was really tasty. I booked this for my husband and me, and while he wasn't super enthusiastic about the idea of tea, he really enjoyed it. It was relaxing with plenty... More

It's been aver 20 years since I had last been to the Matterhorn room at the Lowell Inn and decided it was time for a return visit. Only 4 tables were occupied on a Friday evening. Gone is the all you inclusive wine/fondue meal which isn't a bad thing. The meal is still fondue and now $40 and there are... More

The Lowell Inn has such special memories. This is a place where 40 years ago we dined after our first honeymoon night in an elegant sunshine filled room. It is showing its age. The bathrooms look the same as they did then! The lobby could use some dusting It is quiet The restaurant is dated and like going back in... More

I was called by the owner (not knowing she was the owner at the time) confirming reservations for Easter brunch, and was asked for credit card information. Not really that big of a deal except in the many years I've been going there for Easter and many other occasions, was never asked for that information. So I casually ask why... More

The menu was eclectic and the server was friendly. We had a lovely table on the window in this interesting and slightly funky inn. The food arrived quickly and was very good.

Three of us went to the George Washington Room at the Lowell Inn for a recent noon time mid-week luncheon. This is a favorite place for folks like my elderly Mother (or grandmothers) who enjoy a comfortable, mostly formal, and leisurely luncheon venue where the service is excellent, has a broad lunch menu, and portrays sense of class. We enjoyed... More

The Lowell Inn has some great rooms that you can reasonably rent to host an event as our friends did in order to have a legal wedding after a destination wedding. The strange thing is that the hotel tried to tack on a $300 surcharge for a ceremony even though nothing was done specially for the event....it was very small... More

I had never been to the Lowell Inn at all, not for a meal, not to stay the night. I didn't know what to expect but it was the only restaurant open on Christmas evening and so we went. We, my husband and I, had a lovely surprise waiting for us. We booked the last time for dinner and I... More
