Went for early dinner late lunch on a Saturday. As this restaurant is off the beaten path it is a destination place as opposed to an easy stop off. It was cold so I started with a cup of gluhwein which was served hot. It was average in taste, but I do not like it overly sweet as this was... More

I can't believe this place is still in business. I brought my family here and proclaimed "it is a really neat setting, I'm sure that they've evolved since the 1980s". Well, no they haven't. If you aren't a 'regular', you don't belong. They neither want or need new business. Snooty wait staff, empty dining room and a bar full of... More

Went there to have a nice German dinner but found the noise deafening so it was difficult to have a conversation. Ask for certain mixed vegetables but did not come that way. Food was so so, very salty.

Stopped in for lunch and had a delicious Sauerbraten and a beer. I can't remember what type of beer other than it was a bock. Food was good, mustard was nice and hot, you get pretzels and mustard complimentary. The beef Sauerbraten was delicious and paired wonderfully with the hot mustard. It was my first time having a potato dumpling... More

Great place!! Very authentic! What we ate: fried dumplings and Ruben balls as an app = AMAZING! I had the Jaugershnitzle, husband had a sampler platter w Jaugershnitzle, Weinerschnitle and Sausage, our son (3) had the chicken schnitzel. Finished off meal sharing a piece of their chocolate cake/torte. My favs were the apps and desert, but my husband-the true German... More

If you have an affinity for all things German and are looking for an authentic German restaurant and atmosphere this is your restaurant. While easy to find it is in an out-of-the-way location that fits the ambiance perfectly. It's not hard to project yourself to Germany, maybe the Black Forest, and enjoy the friendly wait staff dressed in German attire... More

We stopped in after a drive just to have a drink at the bar. We have a long history here including hosting part of our wedding here many years ago. It's definitely nostalgia mixed with fun for us. Not this time. The drizzly weather had the tiny bar filled up which is not many people - that's fine. We sat... More

I'm surprised this doesn't fall within the top ten restaurants in Stillwater. I guess this town has an excess of excellent restaurants, and this one is off the beaten path a bit. Worth finding, though. The servings are ample. A friend and I split an appetizer and a dinner platter and still had some to bring home. (We each had... More

Bavarian food, as the name implies. Lots of schnitzels and braten and wurst. Some interesting decor. Lively atmosphere for a Sunday night. The host thanked me by name as I departed! Everyone was friendly despite being busy. I'll go back.

This was the best meal I've had in a long long time. I figured, it's ethnic, there's bound to be something I won't particularly care for. We ordered three different appetizers so we could try some different stuff. We got the schnitzel sampler, the walleye cakes, and the fried bread dumplings. Score, score, and score! The schnitzel was the best... More
