We once were given the best Trip Advisor advice we ever heard; If a venue has hundreds of reviews on Trip Advisor you should probably skip it. I know, it’s counter-intuitive. This is not one of those places that gets lots of reviews and isn’t...along the main interstates. The staff had been on a hiatus since the coronavirus shut down and truly seemed happy to welcome people back to their intimate space. The restaurant is full of local artwork (including the side of the garage in the parking lot) and culture. A little Minneapolis history is in order. This restaurant has been here for many years and was at the intersection of of two historic Minnesota highways before the interstate highway system was built. The restaurant is full of locals, not tourists, but you can go through or to Minneapolis/St Paul without losing too much time. So get off and go the road less traveled. The food is mostly home cooked. The mashed potatoes and pies are made from scratch. Their onion rings are a signature item, large and soft. We were pleased by the service and friendliness of this home grown staff. This was our first visit, so we are sure that there is much more to the story. It’s a local small business deserving your support!More

Great little mom and pop cafe style diner! We stopped because when we travel, we hate chains. What we found is a family owned and run old-school comfort food haven. Pretty much everything from scratch, including the hand cut, bettered to order luscious onion rings,...warm blanket of beef gravy on the beef sandwich, scratch made soups, hand made home fries, and scratch made pies! Don’t know how we missed it before, but that won’t happen again. Staff is like hanging out with your favorite aunties and uncles. Be ready for warm conversation and great people.More

Wife and I went to Wampach’s in the middle morning hours still in the mood for breakfast. Wow we’re we surprised and delighted with the service, the food and the low key venue - one of those sleepy little places that turn out to be...great. We’re not the only ones that know about this secret as it was filled with locals, all enjoying their food and friendship. In Shakopee this is now the go-to place for us!More

Particularly good breakfast menu, food was good, service was friendly, most people should be able to find something on the menu. They have daily specials, did not get to dessert. Definitely would recommend and would return myself

Wampach's is a great, classic diner that serves up a solid breakfast. But really... you got to get the onion rings. Never in my fifty some-odd trips around the sun have I had better onion rings. They are in a different class, altogether. Life is...too short--treat yourself to an order of these babies. You won't be sorry.More

I actually ate here 2 times while in Shakopee. Once for breakfast on a Sunday. And once for lunch. The menu is made up of Old Time Favorites. For breakfast, the Corned Beef Hash & Eggs were good. Unfortunately, it was so crowded we had...to wait a long time. For lunch I tried the Grilled Ham & Cheese. What makes it interesting is that a lot of locals enjoy eating there.More

What a great little local restaurant. Nothing fancy but good old coffee shop breakfast with strong coffee, amazing service, and good food. Pancakes are fluffy and very large portions. Asked around and this was where I was told to go for breakfast. May go back...tomorrow!More

This was my worst experience eating here. Normally the service isn't horrible, but today it was. Took them almost 30 minutes to take our order and another 40 to bring us our food. The kitchen lost our order. Got a halfhearted apology and had to...retake our order. When our food came I still hadn't got my drink. Had to remind the waitress and she said she was making it now. Also forgot the bacon that I ordered. After all this, we became the forgotten customers. No refills, no checking in to see how our food was. Our absolute worst experience here. When we finally got the bill, it was full price. No discount, no offer of a free bakery item. Nothing. Not sure if we will go back after this. If you're in a hurry find somewhere else to go.More
