We once were given the best Trip Advisor advice we ever heard; If a venue has hundreds of reviews on Trip Advisor you should probably skip it. I know, it’s counter-intuitive. This is not one of those places that gets lots of reviews and isn’t...along the main interstates. The staff had been on a hiatus since the coronavirus shut down and truly seemed happy to welcome people back to their intimate space. The restaurant is full of local artwork (including the side of the garage in the parking lot) and culture. A little Minneapolis history is in order. This restaurant has been here for many years and was at the intersection of of two historic Minnesota highways before the interstate highway system was built. The restaurant is full of locals, not tourists, but you can go through or to Minneapolis/St Paul without losing too much time. So get off and go the road less traveled. The food is mostly home cooked. The mashed potatoes and pies are made from scratch. Their onion rings are a signature item, large and soft. We were pleased by the service and friendliness of this home grown staff. This was our first visit, so we are sure that there is much more to the story. It’s a local small business deserving your support!More
