My wife and I just stopped here while traveling. What a treat! The food was homemade and absolutely delicious - the best Chinese either of us have had. The older lady working at the counter (and cooking?) was very kind and sweet. The inside of...the restaurant is small with a few tables, but we ordered to go and had a picnic. We got chicken chow mein, sweet and sour chicken, vegetable fried rice, and cream cheese wontons. Everything was fantastic and FRESH. We both noticed the food wasn't salty or greasy like you often find with Chinese food. You definitely get a lot of food for the price. We were very happy to discover this little hidden gem & plan to make many repeat visits while in the cities!More

The bbq pork fried rice was delicious with lots veggies. My only criticism is that it was quite skimpy with the bbq pork.

Great food and service. They do a great job and are happy to make modifications. Have been coming here for years. Totally consistent!

This is a great little place to catch some excellent Chinese food for lunch or dinner. Their wonton soup is the best I have had, broth cooked in house from chicken bones rather than powder like most such places, wontons are made there and superb....Can't go wrong on the appetizers, and the egg rolls and wings are great. Can have a great lunch just from soup and a couple appetizers. And the service is downright nurturing. Right across from Panera.More

I had lunch at the Far East and was pleased with the quality of the food and especially the service. While there a young man came in asking for vegan food. The server made sure that he was served only vegan food, she stopped at...his table to be sure he was satisfied with his meal. Not the fastest food, but the quality was top notch. The restaurant is in a strip mall, the space is limited, everything was clean and comfortable. It seems to be a local favorite for lunch, I want to go back in the evening for dinner with friends. My guess is it is family owned and run with everyone involved interested in keeping regulars and encouraging new patrons at the top of the list of things to do today.More

This was our first time going to Shakopee for Chinese food and we decided to try Far East based on some of the reviews on Tripadvisor. The restaurant is a tiny place in a small strip mall with about eight tables. We were greeted when...we arrived and continued to have excellent service from our server throughout our visit,, the best part of the experience. We shared chicken lo mein and sweet and sour chicken with white rice. The portions were average although we found the pieces of chicken to be on the small side compared to other Asian restaurants in the Metro area. The dining experience satisfied our needs although we would next time try a different restaurant.More

We dined in and even though there was only one other family we waited about 30 minutes for our food. Only 2 ppl were working in the restaurant. The woman that served us was nice. We ate Eggs Rolls, Steamed Dumplings, House Fried Rice, and...Shimp Curry. Everything tasted average but I personally didnt like the Dumplings. The front door is ultra heavy to push for some reason and the place is small. Maybe it's better to order take out.More

This restaurant features some of the best Chinese I've ever eaten in Minnesota! Formerly in St. Paul, this cute, older couple closed shop and moved to a quiet suburb, luckily bringing their delightful cuisine with! Order early...the line/wait gets pretty long pretty early into the...evening.More

My wife and I went in on a Saturday at about 5pm, it is just a tiny joint, has about 8 tables. The owner greeted us and at first was very friendly, however when i started to order i asked if they had anything spicy,...she then replied this is not the North this is Chinese not Tye, and then she suggested kung pao chicken which i ordered, my wife ordered sesame chicken. As more people came in the lady seemed to annoyed. when we got our food she said oh a lot of people coming in you have to hurry up and eat, then she corrected herself and said I mean we have to hurry up and serve you. We ate fast as we were expecting company at our house, when I asked for to go containers she said you in too much of a hurry, most people sit for awhile and enjoy their food. The food itself was just OK, egg rolls were good but Ive never had sweet kung pao chicken, my wife said her sesame chicken tasted like it was bathed in syrup. The reason I'm giving this a 1 star is not for the food but the lack of respect from the owner.More

Far East is a great little restaurant in Shakopee. We got takeout. The Egg Rolls were very good and the steamed dumplings outstanding! The entrées were certainly the best of the meal. Mongolian Beef and General Tso Chicken were just awesome! Definitely give this place...a try and you will absolutely see the high quality of food compared to your typical Chinese restaurant.More
